p.s i have just checked this and i have it set on sma not ema. i have just reset them and it has moved the 800 ema higher up. such a silly mistake to make i little embarrassed
Ah- you found what went wrong - sorry just read this after i posted. Mate do take note on the set and leave strategy though - not for scalpers. Anyway have a good one. Cheers

Thank you for your comment. I have checked my settings and I had them set to sma not ema (such a silly mistake that should have never happenned) I have now altered this.

I cannot argue with anything you said as I agree with it all. The signs were clear. When I came and looked at the trade I couldnt believe I had even taken it. I will continue to look for trades around this area but will refer to HTF before jumping in. I believe I normally do just had a lapse of concentration this morning. I think it may have been because I lost the trade my instincts said I would not trade around this area, I know this is an unhealthy way to trade.

I am starting to realise this the hard way about only trading when I can be at the screen. I have already started to look into putting time aside for purely screen time and this would allow me to cut my losses short. I am dedicated to becoming a consistant trader.

your comments were not harsh, just constructive critcism which I am grateful you are willing to give me.

I see you like to trade counter trend. This was a nice counter trend trade coming from 4h resistance.

Did you catch the trades that where with the trend on EU today?

Like I said in my earlier post to you I like to have the 15m, 1h, 4h and daily charts on one screen, because I have no imagination LOL, this way I can see exactly what is happening in relation to the emas on the four TFs. As soon as I see something on a higher TF I then go to the 15m chart for entry.

I'm not the best at trading this system but as soon as I started to have the four charts up at once I became far more consistent because I could see in quadraphonic vision LOL.

Helllo boys and girls,

attaching my today EU trades. Both were taken after first signal (without waiting for retest).
retest is a biggest headache for me... Because in many cases when I'am waiting for retest after first signal it just moves on like a bullet (second picture) and it's to late to take a trade, or needs to set very large SL....
Any tips?

My newbie view, i would class this as a retest of the 10 ema on the 15 min. it also bounced from the RN

thank you for answer, so your entry point would be after close of that candle which you mark, or any other place? Where you would place your SL?

I cannot say for certain as i cant see HTF and the few days previous OHLCs

By just going on the 15 min chart my entry would be at the close of the marked candle. my stop loss would be set around 10 pips, making sure it was just above the 10 ema and the RN incase it tests either of the two again

Pop Gun trade..

Hi ya Everyone..

I'm really sorry for bringing this up again

But could some one please explain the different scenarios of what a good Pop Gun trade or at worst what one could look like with a few quick pictures of examples please...sorry for the hassle everyone..

From my understanding I thought we needed the Bullish Outside Bar to encompass the IB and also the prior Mother Bar ....but I'm seeing different pictures here in the thread now as sometimes the BUOB/BEOB isn't very much over extended of the prior two bars (Mother Bar and Inside Bar)..

Is it a case of the BUOB/BEOB has to have longer wicks at either end and at the same time larger than just the IB or is it a case of it has to have longer wicks but over extended by one side of the MB at the least??

I've gone through the Pdf and they seem different again to what I first thought it was as well..

Here's my lousy attempt at "homework" for the weekend. Wait for Emmanuel to post the good stuff lol.

Why did the first two pins fail (red arrows), and why did the 3rd pin (black arrow) succeed? Use htf's in your reasoning.

Hi Ramjet,

Subsequent to the generous postings of Emmanuel and his teaching, I've done detailed research about the popgun pattern. Similar explanation is also in the pdf (elliot_bar_patterns). I've found that the following needs to be satisfied, so we can identify the popgun formation:

- 3 candles right next to eachother,
- 2nd candle must be an "inside bar" of 1st,
- 3rd candle must be an "outside bar" of second (3rd candle does not have to be an outside bar of both prior ones).

I've posted a lot of examples when I performed the Emmanuel's homework on GBP/USD pair:

- in green boxes, the 3rd candle is an outside bar of both
- in blue boxes, the 3rd candle is an outside bar of the 2nd only.

What is important is that both instances work and represent nice profit opportunities. So I will not distinguish the latter 2 variations when trading... Important! It however matters where the "popgun" pattern occurs - for example, if it occurs at Strong S/R zone it has more power than if it occurs in the middle of a range somewhere.

Would the answer be because on the hourly we had a retest of the 10ema on the 3rd PB but the first 2 PB's didn't retest the 10ema..

hi, Stevepatt, as I not in front of screen all the time, and also I am working, I just checking the chart once a while. When there is a setup, i flip my chart with all the tf, if possible I enter the trade, also I am using notebook with small screen, if I have to pop up all the tf charts as what you show (which is very good visual), i will not see clearly on what i want to look for. If I am at home with dual screens, plus my notebook, triple screens, i do have all TF charts for my favorite pairs, EU, GU, and AU.

If you are using MT4, you can create profiles... Profile for each pair. For example:
1) open 4 EUR/USD charts (15min, 1h, 4h, Daily).
2) tile them horizontally or vertically to have all of them open at the same time.
3) save the profile (hint: save profile as: EUR_USD).

This will allow you to open all time frames of certain pair with couple of clicks. Try, it might improve your trading.

Yes, I knew that, but as I mentioned, if I have my charts too small, I can't see what I want to look for. In this case, for future posting, I will screen capture all TF... hahahahaah...

HAHA, currently am using 2 x 22" screen with my desktop, which is good enough for the time being. but due to my job nature, will have to travel all the time, won't be able to have luxury time sitting there monitor all the time. My next plan is get a 42" LED TV, direct shoot my chart on that, don't know how good it will be. hahahahaahaha.

Sometime, I am using my mobile phone to trade, if there is good set up, but draw back is can't use TDI with mobile phone, purely base on chart pattern, MA, and stoch.
