Hi, Amy

According to the Dilernia model, euro last month broke above its 3-monthly range high and retraced to just that 50% range high. Ideally it should extend to this month's 3-monthly range high, at3255 & 3388. However, this week it's dropped below its 3-weekly midpoint at 2988. I think it would need to get back above this level to resume bullish sentiment. This month's 3-monthly midpoint is at 2690 and 3-weekly range low is at 2820 & 2781. So even if euro goes lower it still doesn't negate potential for a higher high in Q4.

What's your current take on this? Your opinion will be appreciated.

The euro only gave very weak buy signals so far in October so it is not suprising that it is failing to make new highs. There is no rule saying that it has to move into the 3 month highs this month, the only thing I can say for sure is that it will go higher before it makes new lows.
That could be next year though, price could drift sideways into a low in January then move up from there.

If it is going to move into the 3 month highs soon though the expected top would be in early November, so there is still plenty of time.

Wednesday EU bounced off the 5 day lows and opened Thursday above the pivot, it still looks bullish to me.

Hi, Amy. What would you make of this week's bearish candle on euro? I have November's 3-m midpoint coming in at 2753, which also roughly coincides with next week's 3-week low, but I don't know if it means 'ideally' that price would rice to monthly range high. Thanks.

I think it looks like a good buying opportunity between here and 1.2750, targeting 1.35. Price doesn't need to touch the 3 month mid, it just needs to be above it, but if it can bounce off the 3 week lows combined with the 5 and 10 day lows all sitting in the same area, that makes for a very strong long signal. The strongest since the lows in July.

Euro now seems to be closing below the 3-week range low 50% level and also 3-month midpoint.... doesn't look so good. Granted, the week is not over and the month is still young, and it could still go back above the 3-month midpoint within this month. But the tone of price action seems rather heavy.

I think it looks fine, the dollar index hasn't topped yet, also the indicies were moving back to 3 month lows which has been completed Thursday.
Also look back in history, it doesn't matter if the week closes below the 3 week lows if it is in the timeframe for a turning point,

Going by look of things.. Oshawa..i reckon u rite.. looks like it going up at mo thou.. i n at 2728.. stop 2712.. certainly no long term view thou..question for you.. I dont know a lot about these pivots u all play with here.. only what i have been ably to work out from posts on this thred.. so bear with me.. my question is do you use 3 day pivots.. ?? and if so do you pay much attention to them on a short term basis..oh just looked at chart i am up 11 points.. Beauty.. now back to my question..If you do i would like to start a dialogue about them.. about what i have found just muddling along on my own.. and what your thinking is about them.. If you dont use them then there is no point discussing them is there?? no offence.. just as matter of interest.. current low point is yesterdays.. 3 day mid point.. exact and and to days is 2747.. i am finding them very interesting.. especialy in relationship to shorter term charts..

Danc, I am only going by Frank's old thread here in FF and when I first found that thread I found it sort of similar to what I noticed previously of weekly pivot FIB divisions, his is multi-week (3) and multi-timeframe and with rules to define his methodology. Frank seems to use only 5-D and insisted the importance of using 6-day week in this thread, but I found the difference most of the time minimal.

I only came across the idea of 3-day from Bella (I apologise if I got the name wrong) who posted here a few months ago. So now I look at both 3-d and 5-day. Many times 3 and 5-d midpoint would converge depending on the range, and when 5-day range is too wide, often 3-day range would come to play. Didn't Amy mention 10-D last week as well? Based on my very shallow understanding of Frank's model, I think 3 or 5-day midpoint can be used to judge the direction for short term intraday. Slightly higher timeframe would be the main 3-w levels, it's a bit like trading 4h charts in usual trading speak.

I do love to have more dialogues with people who know a lot or only a bit of this model. I believe new things could be learnt through sharing and exchanging ideas. So, people, please do come back and join in.

hey danc amyc oshawa anyone

been a bit of a fan of this journal for quite some time and only recently been incorporating some range theory into the information component of my trading endeavors. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some range bar charts? I generally use my eye and differnet time frames to gauge where things are in a range but would just like to play around with some actual range bar charts for some testing.

Any help appreciated thank you.

No i dont use but go Spiders web.. and ask .. T.. who runs it .. good bloke mention me..or of course..go hier low lower hi and ask Vantage.. he uses em.. another good bloke..
