I hope someone can help me or clarify. I am EST (GMT - 5). The time on the current bar shows up as 04:00 (GMT) MAY 31, 2006. However it is 10:00 PM where I am (03:00 GMT). Does anyone know why it's like this??

Also, MT4 was down this morning. So annoying...not the first time. I was all ready with my notes and homework done and whatdayaknow?? The charts are not working. I have a 6 hr gap with no data. Kinda screws with my 1 HR tunnel.

Thanks

Well, I logged onto my broker's charts and looked at their data. I then when to MT4 and clicked on TOOLS --> HISTORY.

Then when I go to the EURUSD and pick H1, ADD data mechanically yourself. This was fine...I started to see new candles fill in the time gap.

PROBLEM was after inserting a few candles, the time shifted one hour. Now my charts are GMT + 1 which is really misleading. I look at my broker's quote and it is exactly the same as the MT4 quote and it moves exactly the same. So I know I am looking at the current price. But it's just misleading. I expect to see the time now to be 05:00 GMT, but MT4 says 06:00 GMT

I wish there was a way to set the time to our local times in MetaTrader. I contacted my broker once and their answer was "NO". There is one expert advisor that converts the time to the local time but I didn't dare to give it a try. When you encounter such problems with the vanilla program how could you guarantee that an add-on cuold be reliable.
