Man, you have got short memory. I remember in 2008-2009 price was making 100-200 pips on news up and down in a matter of seconds. Thsi is kind of news which can cause quite a stir.

Generally, market is very very smooth now and quite relatively to few years back. ATR for e/u was 200+ pips daily and gbp/jpy was a king of the hill with 300 + pips daily range.
