If you can do 20% per month consistantly, why even bother trying to get more?
I can understand if you wanna get your capital up but if you really can get 20%, save up and then start trading?

Why bother blowing up accounts trying to get crazy returns?

$2500 is already quite small. any smaller is just not worth the time. try like $10,000. more difficult to blow up in 3 days.

lol, k. Well, i actually have Super’s wellbeing in mind. And it is worth the time if you look at the bigger picture and a longer timeframe. It helps one settle in and get comfortable with what he is doing and not blow away larger sums of money needlessly. You then move on from there.

To each his own i guess…

Interesting thread! But how could be so easily to blow up an account with just few days. Unless trade for big lots, without stop loss or risk to reward ratio is high. Not talking about emotion trading.

There is one word saying "High risk, high reward". This is true if someone intents to capture higher profit, meanwhile risk absolutely is increased. You could achieve the 20% monthly (I don't doubt), but required better capital in one account in order to sustain the temporary draw down. So you won't get margin call ans they stop your position. If one could deal with this, he/she still able to meet the objective in the end, . Just my observation.

Smajdah: Before i was almost certain that i can make it and that was why i did it. But now yeah i am going to keep drawdowns low by cherry picking my trades. Will be risking 3% per trade

~bull.bear~: Yes high risk was what killed my previous account. But now i think i have learnt both the emotion and sytem(how i should be trading). The next account won't be blown up as i have changed the way i trade.

I believe everyone should start trading small...Very very small...and after you have been successful...not fairly successful(this probably would take 3months and above)...then move on to use half of your full amount of trading capital...then after 3 months of successful trading proceed with your full capital and start compounding.

If you were making it on demo consistently, you can make it on live too. Here is a little trick I used. I traded demo and live at the same time when I restarted live. Found out I was pulling out to early on my live account and my demo was whooping my ass in terms of profitability (No emotions). After a bit of time I started holding on to my trades like I did with the demo account. And the rest is history.

Supertrader9: I hope you dont have those extremly narrow stoplosses with like 4pips.. i think that would be very hard to be profitable on. You would need a perfect entry all the time..

But what do i know, i'm also a novice.

Yup. It is not necessary to have big account on hand. But what i understand from supertrader9, he required to achieve his target (20% of his account), a certain amount for his monthly income. If he trades micro lots, his is not able to get the desired income although is 20% return.

20% return per month will qualify you for managing other people's money. AceFXTrader is an example,

My target is about 10% per day. Risking 3% per trade. So no its not 20% per month.

if u said about 10% per day, and risk is 3% means ur per rr is about 1:3 technically. per trade 3% ? meaning u might be having many trades of 3% to build a 10% growth?

you might want to rework on your risk management

are you saying that to achieve 10% per day, we should only take ONE trade at 3% risk? And working for 3:1 risk reward? What if I take more than 2 or 3 trades a day, each trade risking 3%? I have to cater for losers, as there will be losers. If every trade wins then it doesn't matter what risk as the winners will keep compounding. Problem is there will be losses, hence keeping risk per trade to 3%. If I aim for 3 trades per day, each trade 3%, potentially if all 3 trades were losers, then I would be 9% down for the day. Daily goal is 10% out of the 3 trades. Would that be a good plan?

Yes, i probably should not say what my target is

5%: Thats my aim...but what i will get depends on the market....my system is dynamic..well its discretionary price action trading. One can only do it once they have enough experience.

No, that's not what i am saying but what supertrader is referring, he said that he wants to achieve about 10% growth per day, with 3% risk per trade.

Assuming 3% risk is $300 each,

he wants to make $1000 at 10%.

If a trade is taken at 3% risk, tell me what kind of risk reward and leverage he is using to achieve 10%? that's my question and doubt. I am not criticizing, but wonder is leverage or risk bet.

Because u see, some people trade like that, they are using 3% risk on an example of 15 pips stop loss leverage, and they target a 45 pips 1:3 rr, so that would be 9% for example if they strike a win on that risk per trade.

from a retailer account 9% loss is not alot, from a portfolio perspectives, 9% loss on 3 trade is alot. Maybe u can get what i am referring at mmaker.

Chasing gains might be good, but risk is more important.

I think Supertrader9 should backtest your system, get the overall profit and divided into monthly case. Then to get expected monthly return. Because it is hard to build 10% growth for risking 3% per day. If there is consecutive losing trade, more win trades are required to breakeven and achieve this objective. The reason is 3% risk become less amount for subsequent trades, apparently profit is reduced as well to maintain a fix RR ratio.


If you based on overall scenario, maybe 5 years to generate average return 10% daily. This would be fine. So i am not sure if you means this.

~bull.bear~, I think you are late to the thread. Supertrader9 was already demonstrating through several demo accounts that he can EASILY grow 100% even more within a very short period. That was shown in this thread's TradeExplorer tracking page. We witnessed it several times that's why we are here. What you think is "hard" has been proven easy by Supertrader9 in the earlier demo accounts. I wish I had captured the screenshot to show you, he had proven his strategies in demo mode many many times.
