Hi all

for the people that do know another thread already exists for discussion of this style of trading,
questions and general chat can be found and answered there, MaMood and Indianguyinny24 two senior members of this thread and TAF family have already suggested we use this a few posts back.

This thread can be found in the members lounge area and is called 'TAF lounge'.

Thank you for your kind words Suma, it is good to see you posting here again my friend.

Fti and family

regards

Phil.

Hi Phil,
I have tried to read the TAF Lounge but it seems to be restricted to senior members only. I have finaly register with FF, after few years of reading it anonymously but still can't access the lounge.
Unfortunately it is not easy for everyone to access the information in there.
I'd much rather like to see the TAF thread continuing to be 'alive' so anyone can read the invaluable posts from FTI and the others.
This is just my personal opinion - and I regret that I haven't posted earlier my big and sincere 'THANK YOU' to FTI and the other contributors to this thread.

cheers
KD

MEMENTO MORI......
A poem that I've read not long ago:

Around the corner I have a friend,
In this great city that has no end,
Yet the days go by and weeks rush on,
And before I know it, a year is gone.

And I never see my old friends face,
For life is a swift and terrible race,
He knows I like him just as well,
As in the days when I rang his bell.

And he rang mine but we were younger then,
And now we are busy, tired men.
Tired of playing a foolish game,
Tired of trying to make a name.

'Tomorrow' I say! 'I will call on Jim
Just to show that I'm thinking of him.'
But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
And distance between us grows and grows.

Around the corner, yet miles away,
'Here's a telegram sir,' ' Jim died today.'
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.

Thanks for the great poem. I had the pleasure of being an active convertible security trader on Wall Street for over 30 years. From time to time one of our community gets the old group together for an evening of good food and conversation. It is sponsered by one of the big investment banks. The group is called "The Legends" and I am proud to be a legend. The evening prevents the kind of result that occur in the poem. Thanks again.

Hi All,

Missing Fti alot, GOD BLESS HIM, wherever he is........

He changes my perspective in live.

Although, I don't fully understand his trading method. (which is... a kind of sad, because I am too dump lol !)

However, he really changes my perspective in life, with his teaching on honour, humility, respect and his willingness to pass on his skill.

What I learn from him, was the Tai Chi excerises that he truly believed. Been doing it since then, each and everyday and my health is slowly recovering.

"GOD BLESS HIM" and his favourite icon

Best regard

hi guys,

Need some help: I vaguelly remember that there is a mentioning of hedging as a possible strategy to be used in extreme conditions, in one of Fti's lessons.
Am I right?

Hi Karma,

I don't think so, however as far as I remember in one of his post he mentioned that he played long while his shorts were in trouble and then he closed his longs with profit and then rescued shorts successfully but he never recommended that.

I personally use it sometimes thou but not recommended again.

Hi Karma,

I do not have any concrete posting in mind, but I think that fti was using hedges indeed, but not on the same pair. In fact I remember that he was trading EURUSD and his position was in trouble and he hetched that position with another pair (I think it was another cross), to buy some time...

In my opinion Hedging in the same pair does make sense only for some very technical reasons ...

All the best,
MaMood

Hi ALL,

@fullperson,
yes, absolutely reading all wrong.

Firstly i think you come from wrong end of the dealing desk. But you understand FIFO(First in First Out P&L accounting).
So if you understad FIFO then you seem understand hedging all wrong.
The term hedging is for people who actually own the underlying in cash or physicals. And when they use futures markets and/or other leveraged OTC synthetics to hedge their exposure, then that is hedging.
In currencies markets when we pitch one currency against another spot currency , is called crosses.

Hi KarmaD

regarding hedging I can not find the posts I know I have read on this subject, but the thing to remember with whatever 'tool' you use it is only any good to you in the right circumstances.

This is why practice is so important, the market will teach which tool to use and when if you let it.

AOW.
1. Sun Tzu said: The art of war is of vital importance to the State.

2. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected.

3. The art of war, then, is governed by five constant factors, to be taken into account in one’s deliberations, when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.

Regarding TAF lounge, you must be logged in to access it and I am not sure but you may also need to be off your probationary period (posted about 6 times).

Hi karmad,

Imho, try not to get distracted by hedging. Focus on trading one currency for a start. 3 kingdoms will be the next to pick up. It takes a lot of time to understand the behavior of the pair that you are working with.... N takes even more time to understand yourself... Not trying to get abstract or philosophical here, but you need to understand things like where your fear n greed threshold is n how to overcome them slowly.

The other fancy stuffs like hedging/long sword etc are for the big boys. We are only ants in the market trying to eat the crumbs falling off the table.

N

Here is the best advice you'll ever get - it's made me rich trading my own EA which is not for sale - but here is the situation as it is
You need to use both fundamental and technical analysis knowledge - the very basic of both. Fundamental tells you which way the pair will go - up or down and correctly used Technical analysis will tell you when this happens.
Been doing it for 20 years and tutoring for 8 of those. I have tutored for 8 years all over the world via team viewer and skype - I've been around for so long because I am successful - I have nothing to prove to anybody.
Enjoy your trading and don't get taken in by all the rubbish the gurus sell you on the internet - They know that you don't know and take advantage!
Good luck

Hi and Good Morning Friends!

I agree also, but I guess "locking" will not be possible.
But I'll ask Twee.

But what we can do immediatley is moving on into the Lounge.
There we can control the flow of postings much better.

CU,
Niels

Hi MaMood

agreed and thank you for asking Twee.

I will no longer post here (unless Fti returns) and move to the taf lounge where anyone can discuss/question what they want to without destroying this thread.
