US Retail sales jump 1.1% in September | Forex Factory

US Retail sales jump 1.1% in September

U.S. retail sales rose a seasonally adjusted 1.1% in September, as spending rose for every segment except department stores, the Commerce Department said Monday. Excluding autos, which can have an outsized impact on the report, retail sales also rose 1.1%. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch expected retail sales to rise by 0.9% last month, or by 0.8% minus autos. In addition, the government revised sales figures for August and July to show somewhat higher spending. The rally in gold was interrupted at the key 1800.00 level, the price of gold retreated in a correction that could be considered normal after the strong rally we have seen.

The rally’s main catalysts were; the flood of liquidity from central banks across the world, and the eased tension over the European debt crisis following the ECB’s pledge to contain the crisis through extraordinary measures, such as the “Outright Monetary Transactions”.

If the Federal Reserve is to continue printing money gold is expected to continue rising within the upcoming period, however a better than expected economic data from the U.S. recently lifted speculation further aggressive bond buying won’t be necessary as the economy could be in the process of accelerating.

I think the Big Boys already know the result before it was announced. See gold price has dropped 15 minutes before announcement from 1748 to 1741? Those Big Boys had taken their selling positions and when it was announced, they all take their profit. That's why the chart didn't go down and even go up slightly. I think gold price will hang around 174x for today.

Fed will surely printing money for some months ahead. They will not stop printing when US economy just begin to recover. They have to make sure the economy won't become worse when they stop printing. So, there is still a big possibility gold will go up again later

Although it is possible gold still continue down to 1690 area, but I still think that it's only small probability.
If gold can be restrained in 172x-173x area for the rest of this week, more likely it will go north next week. The longer it stays here, the more traders will start buying.
For the meantime I think it's safer to observe the price movement until bear power diminish a little bit more before enter any long position.

Wait for a sideways for some times. The longer the sideways the more probable bear has been restrained, but not 100% certainty, it's market after all. There is also a probability that the bear just regain its energy.
Safer to keep tight to your risk management to survive and take profit.

Lousy entrance but hey, everybody agree to long I had to be sure.
I strongly advise you NOT taking my trade as I follow a risky signal aiming too many pips with small lot!

And as for Gold I always preferred the black one. It has more clear moves

And i beleive Gold would go down till 1736 for the day as strong US data would have an influence over it.

The fundamentals of gold that I learnt years before starting trading are that gold likes inflation (absent these days). On the other hand oil causes inflation. Some traders concentrate on gold and oil, the good ones watch other important markets as well, and can probably analyse most instruments easily.
