High & Low Of Day Study

Has a research study ever been done on the most common times of day the high and low are established?

I'll give you a clue, there are 3 most common times a new high or low are set for the day and never beaten.
1)NYEST: 5pm - 1.00am
2) 1am - 9.00am
3) 9am - 5.00pm

These are the 3 shifts, now run your stats and see what you come up with

That is far too vague surely someone must of checked the last couple of years and said 75% of the time a reversal occurs at 10.30am BST time 5.30am EST time etc. I see most reversals starting 1 hour after London/NY sometimes 1-2 hours.

I spent some time a few years ago looking into this as one of the frequently useless, yet nonetheless interesting "side projects" I often undertake. It's a good question. My motive was not to seek entry points, but rather to provide some statistically valid times of day when a movement might appear against open positions.

I can say that in my opinion, there's no statistically valid time of day for reversals, or, indeed, continuation moves (to answer your next question).

That being said, it takes no more than a bit of chart eyeballing to notice the usual "action" in many (not all) of the better-traded pairs near LO, NYO, Asia after lunch, and the often commented-upon volatility surrounding the Frankie-to-LO period (the two hours prior to LO).

Interesting opinion, however I do not agree the banks all have Gap times and they are time based systems out there like the delta phenomena and planetary time based systems that work however they are complicated and require lots of reading and experimenting time.
