Just come back to PC, TP's hit but with slippage !!

TP's were

EUR = 1.2850
GBP = 1.6080

Actual =

EUR = 1.2842
GBP = 1.6084

Short @

1.6081 - 3

Good morning,

Those who follow this forum are all aware of my trading strategy,

For a while I will only be posting DEMO TRADES, after analyzing my positions I am trying to develop a new strategy which will involve less manual management.

Although with recent movement today might not be the best day to implement the strategy, here goes.

I will be demo ing 3 variants of the one strategy (hopefully to find 1 that suits best).

The strategy is very similar to how I trade but hope to remove the majority of decision making from the process.

The only point that will be left open for debate will be THE ENTRY TIME !!

I would normally advise a UK TIME OF 07:30 (but I have entered slightly early today)

variant 1

GBP LONG @ 1.6193 (TP = +30 SL = -60)
GBP SHORT @ 1.6191 (TP = +30 SL = -60)
EUR LONG @ 1.3036 (TP = +30 SL = -60)
EUR SHORT @ 1.3034 (TP = +30 SL = -60)

When one trade TP is hit TP on the other is moved to B/E

RISK 60 pips : Reward 60 pips (for both GBP & EUR)

variant 2

GBP LONG @ 1.6193 (TP = +20 SL = -40)
GBP SHORT @ 1.6191 (TP = +20 SL = -40)
EUR LONG @ 1.3036 (TP = +20 SL = -40)
EUR SHORT @ 1.3034 (TP = +20 SL = -40)

When one trade TP is hit TP on the other is moved to B/E

RISK 40 pips : Reward 40 pips (for both GBP & EUR)

variant 3

GBP LONG @ 1.6193 (TP = +30 SL = -60)
GBP SHORT @ 1.6191 (TP = +30 SL = -60)
EUR LONG @ 1.3036 (TP = +30 SL = -60)
EUR SHORT @ 1.3034 (TP = +30 SL = -60)

When one trade TP is hit TP on the other is moved to B/E
a trade is also opened in the opposite direction with TP @ B/E for initial trade.

E.g.

GBP LONG @ 1.6193 (TP = +0 SL = -60)
GBP SHORT @ 1.6191 (closed @ +30)
GBP LONG @ 1.6163 (TP = +30 SL = -30)
(This trade hopes to profit from a retrace)


RISK 120 pips : Reward 120 pips (for both GBP & EUR)

that is the whole point of strategy 3

it will catch the move to those points then catch the retraces.

i guess this would be grt in consolidating mkts...as most of the time mkts do retrace.... but when mkts are trending (like today) then there would be grt chances of hitting the sl...
have you bactested it??
just curious, not criticizing
mostly i trade on brkout of ranges...
am still working on the retraces... bit hard for me to trade the retraces..

Most of the trend movement has come from the US session euro session has typically been fake, retrace wait for US

A problem with my current system is bad R:R although I am able to make positive pips on a daily basis there is always the fact that 1 bad day can = 2 good days !! OR WORSE.

This system looks to correct that, having a R:R of 1:1

As mentioned this is only DEMO so we will wait and see, I will post results and updates for all system.

The biggest problem I see with this system is a morning like THIS MORNING (ARGGHH !!) where between 7 - 9 (uk time ) the market hasn't moved.

But in all honesty that only leaves the loss of the spread
