Thanks...but then, ef course we only know if it is clear signal after the fact, so I tend to take all of the decent pullbacks in my intraday trading....however still adjusting to "long term trades"...

I disagree. Look at some of the live trades I posted towards the start of the thread. A signal can be clear and then the trade still loses. If a signal is not clear, don't take it. That's the difference.

Euraud and eurnzd looking nice too.

The trades are out there, you just need to look through all pairs at the end of the day and if there is anything setting up on the daily then you just add it to your hourly watchlist.

Learn to use profiles in mt4 and keep a profile with all the daily charts and a watchlist profile with only what is setting up right now.

HB...if one is to play EURCAD short at around 5:00 am today Pacific USA(Ha turned red), trade would be still on until 20 pips from the hourly 100ma chart(for stop loss).

Correct?

HB, I think the better question is, would you come in into the EURCAD short? when? would you still be in the trade?

Hi Hugh,
I have read through the thread and your pdf file on swing trading. Very well put, I prefer the Heiken Ashi also, eliminates a lot of noise.
I wish I had the opportunity to trade the London open and US session. The Asian session is my only option left.
Posting a chart to show my layout, any questions feel free to ask.
I will post charts from time to time on setups, this is how we all learn by sharing our ideas.

Sorry, went to bed.

Looking at eurcad now I would have taken a trade when it first turned over but it looks like it would have been a break even or a small loss. It was a pretty good signal but just didn't work out this time. I will still keep an eye on this pair. I want to see a better push away from the 100 sma now and then wait for the first pullback.

Usdcad is a similar story but not sure if it gave a valid signal for an entry. Still looking good if it turns soon.

Thanks, glad you like it. If you can only trade one session maybe switch to a higher timeframe? You will get better moves for less effort that way.

Thanks. The trend following system is supposed to be a slow moving long term thing but it seems I have caught a few good trends right from the start! Of course things could turn round yet but considering I am expecting between 20 and 80% in the first year it's encouraging to be up around 15% in the first month. These things have a habit of evening themselves out over the course of the year though so I won't get too excited just yet.

Usdcad short. Just got a 15 pip stop on this as it is all that is needed. If it hits the stop I no longer want to be in the trade.

hi guys, i managed 20 pips on e/u this morning, i used 4 hr HA plus i had a directional movement cross over on the 15 minute. I had to leave the pc so i got out of the trade at 20 pips. and now i am home i will look around for other opportunities
