Thanks Igor. Starting to understand. Appreciate all the help I can get. Looks like I could have entered on the second pullback after I missed the first if not mistakened.

What if the 100 SMA hourly is breached and we close our positions, but some hours/days later the price crosses again and is on the right side of the hourly 100 SMA? If we see a valid signal, can we take it? Or we have to wait again first for the signal on the daily chart?

Yes, if the daily looks ok and the hourly resumes the trend then you can reenter.

Guys,

I'm seeking a reputable broker who will restore my leverage once I move an open trade's SL to above BE, so that I can trade again without reducing lot size due to reduced leverage from my existing trade size. Can anyone recommend a broker who might fit this description?

I don't think you will find a 'reputable' broker who will do that. You could look at some of the spread betting companies like IG Index (or whatever they call themselves now) as I believe they do something like that but then you're not in the realms of reputable.

If you need to do this you are either trading with too much size anyway or you should change to a broker that offers higher leverage. Also don't get leverage and margin confused. It is not your leverage that changes it is your available margin.

The price on NZD/USD is above the 100 SMA on the daily graph. According to the system you should not be opening short positions even if the price on H1 is below the 100SMA. am I missing something?

Yup, 100 sma is irrelevant on D1. Stoch cross and change of HA candle is only relevant on D1.

You are right to an extent but it would be better if you were trading the hourly in the same direction as the daily. This move down could still be seen as a pullback in a daily uptrend. Of course there is nothing to stop nzdusd from just dropping from here and you will have a nice pyramided trade making you good money. One thing to mention though is that you are probably racking up quite a negative swap by now, no?

according to AlpariUK it is -0.67 pips a day per full lot. So as long as price is going your way...

Yes but that's still £4 in old world money per day. You wouldn't want to hold that short for 10 days and then it hits break even! Mind you I see what you mean, it's only a business cost.

Hello Hugh Briss. Aren't you using the 100 SMA also on the daily graph?
is the signal on the daily graph same as the signal on the H1 graph (pullback from the 100 SMA, candle change, stoch crossover)?
do you wait to get 1 signal on the daily+1 signal on the hourly before entering?
or the signal on the daily graph can be simplier?

I do trade the hourly in the same direction as the daily. It might be just a pullback in the daily uptrend, but this trade is based on a really good fundamentals. China (NZD 2nd largest trade partner) has problems right now. This recent appreciation of NZD was just a mere hope for a new QE, but with recent NFP, employment numbers I really really doubt it will happend. In addition to that, NZ have been coming up with economic indicators below the street estimations. If it is a pullback it has quite a room for a pullback. I hope it draws a good picture, unfortunately I can't elaborate more, they loaded me up with tons of work in the end of my internship

Swap rate is ok, I can handle ~ $1.2CAD everyday for my 3 of my trades, and so far luck have been on my side. I already moved to break even on two of my largest trades. If it won't work out this time, it's ok trading is just a game of probabilities, and i would lose 1% of my account max

Also 4 quid/day, how much money do you have in your account if it's not a secret?

Yes but as Igor is saying you can be looser with the daily chart. The aim is to catch the good trends on the hourly chart when the price stays one side of the 100 sma which is what he has achieved.

My point was that the hourly trends that move in the same direction as the daily will usually be better.

I have some bigger and some smaller. None of them huge though (yet! ). I've never said that I am a high roller.

When you say you are trading the hourly in the direction of the daily you are technically right because the daily is moving down but what I tend to look at is the longer term trend in relation to the 100 sma.
