I really don't understand the members in that thread. Because if the thread owner might be fed up after sometime to always answer newbies' questions, the other members are often willing to help, but there, they are all rushing together to kill any thinking mind.

In a way it's not a big loss to be banned as we can say nothing at all anyway.

I'm not sure that's a good one to take as it should make 90 pips and we have some news for USD coming in less than 2 hours.

The problem is that a spring appeared a short time after our entry and the result is this very impulsive move.

On AUDUSD, AUDJPY and CADJPY, the candlestick has closed too far above the buy area. However on GBPJPY there was a buy signal and PT has already been reached.

And now we are stopped on EURGBP too.

So so far we had 3 winners yesterday. 1 winner and 3 losers today and one pending trade.

But in this case, your wording of this rule in #1 is somewhat incorrect:

"The body of the second candlestick must be completely included inside the whole range (the range from the low to the high) of the first candlestick."

In this sentence, you say whole range = range from low to high. That's fine. But:

"And the body of the third candlestick must be completely included in the range of the previous two candlesticks."

I interpreted this "range of the previous two candlesticks" as "the whole range of the previous two candlesticks". As in the first sentence you said "from low to high", I meant the same should be done here too (lowest low to highest high), due to the same wording.

So, seems like a misunderstanding on my part. Anyway, glad that you worked it out.

Hi,

In the chart in attachement you can see the three candlesticks that where used to define our channel. One of the rule is that the first candlestick cannot be an inside bar, but as you can see on the chart, those candlesticks appear in a triangle pattern.

Anybody has an idea on how we could avoid that? The idea is that the must be a higher high or a lower low for the channel to be valid, but in this case it doesn't prevent it from being inside a triangle pattern.

The first candlestick at the beginning of the triangle pattern is almost a valid hammer but the body is slightly bigger than its biggest shadow, so no channel appeared there. If it had, the next channel would not be valid, because it is included in the previous one.

Too bad I didn't see it when it happened, but on CHFJPY and EURJPY when our SL was triggered there was also a entry signal on the other side. So at least we could have ended at breakeven instead of with a loss on those two pairs.

You're all very welcome if you can find new ideas about this system. For example I'm thinking about the way to choose the SL and profit target.

If you put the HDChannel indicator on a chart, you will see a dark gray channel surrounded by two light gray bands (and the the buy and sell areas). The dark channel is the channel delimited by our 3 hammer or doji candles. The light gray band on each side is like no-man's land. Price broke out of the inner channel, but there no reason to get exited yet.

I've also noticed that price is losing some steam a few pips before reaching our profit target.

My thinking is that we should perhaps compute the SL and profit target levels relative to the opposite side of the inner channel, instead of the outer (light gray) channel.

You can see an example of what I mean right now on AUDNZD and USDCHF. If you remove the height of a light gray band to the profit target measurement we would already have closed both trades in profit. And same thing happend yesterday on EURUSD. It stopped only a few pips before reaching the profit target. You can also notice that our SL would never have been in danger either.

If you had traded CHFJPY and EURJPY on both sides, EURGBP, GBPUSD, GBPJPY and USDCHF, the result for today would have been:

3 losers, 5 winners and one trade still running.

They were all in our currency pairs' set from today (I've not checked if there were other currency pairs having a new tradable channel appearing during the day).

On my side I could not achieve that. It was only a matter of following the rules of the system, but today the result is breakeven for me.

By the way, if we had been using the new SL and profit targets I was talking about above, the result would be:

2 losers and 7 winners (EURGBP becomes a winner and USDCHF trade would be closed already).

But yes, with my breakeven result I'm still a bit far from this :-((

Tomorrow I'll try to show the opportunities as I did today and yesterday, but I won't trade personally, because on Friday the price moves are often very special and I want to test the system a bit more to see how it behaves on Fridays. I would also not recommend to take any trade signal occuring after the 2 or 3 first hours of London open. And all trades should be closed before the weekend.

I've missed London Open. Well on GBPNZD there was a sell signal right at London open and there is a better entry now. I would set the SL on the opposite side of the dark gray channel and set the PT to have a 1:1 risk/reward ratio.

Today I'll keep an eye on EURGBP, GBPCHF, GBPNZD, NZDCHF, NZDJPY and USDJPY. And I'll only enter if there is a signal during the next two hours (because it's Friday).

From now on we don't enter a new trade anymore, except if GBPNZD reverses and gives a buy signal, as I suspect the move from now to be a spring.
