I think i hit a hurdle today.
had a position on...and price moved against me...so waited and rescued just a little...and then price started moving my way..which put me in profit.

but the hurdle was...
even though my position and resuce position was quite small..the way the price was moving ..the rescue position should have been left in place as attack.

but fear of the position turning against me ...made me pull out 2 small rescue positions.

then later on as price moved even more my way...i closed down another few small positions....like out of relief that i was in a small profit...and one of the positions i even closed out at a small loss..just in case.

when i looked back ...i felt resentment or maybe greed..
because... if i had just held the positions longer i would now have much much more profit....

the thought also crosses my mind that it is going to take so long to make decent amount of money if i dont hold profitable position longer....and that next time the market may not be as kind.

i feel this conflict may lead to heavy losses if i dont sort my mindset out...may also lead to heavy profits.

so i think there is a conflict in my mind....fear V greed (with a little bit of haste mixed in)...i need to find the balanace...i dont know if there is an answer to this conflict.
if fear wins ...then i lose.
if greed wins then i lose.
surely haste is always a bad thing.

i need to ponder this.

hi lusan..
yes i think its inner dragons that must be understood.

im not oversizing
im real careful about that ..because i need to be in a position to mount rescue...i learned that lesson last week and escaped by the grace of god..
no more of that nonsense from me.

i think maybe its because i am really doing ants work...so much so that it seems pointless due to the size of my initial equity.

that is what the issue is.....impatience to build a sizeable pot to work from..that is the issue...if my pot was 10 times larger..then i would be happy with my takings for the day.

this i know in my mind...so i am wanting to get my pot 10 times larger quickly...then i can just enjoy my work.
this demon inside ...desiring to get pot 10 times larger as quickly as possible is what is causing my greed and fear and haste.

ps..my pot is very small...so it will take much time to get to a decent size to play with.
maybe i take some other work and put all the money in the pot.
or sell things.....
as forex is all i want to do.

as i am not prepared to gamble in order to build pot...becasuse i have new mindset from this thread...

again READ THE THREAD and see the other things, scout, rescue and attack are tools not a grail system, if you do not see it, read it again and again but slower each time until you do start to see the other important things here.


You really need to calm down and allow yourself the pleasure of understanding what you are reading and doing.


On your point of size (stay small), look only at pips not £'s, pips are constant £'s per pip are variable.


if bulls are taking ground be bullish--if bears are taking ground be bearish. Some days the fight is worthwhile others it is not.


It takes a while to start to get to grips with this, NO indy or line will help you with this, it is just you and the dance partners, you MUST learn patience, self control and humbleness (taming your scorpions) before a lady will offer you her hand...


lower time frames are only a break down of higher time frames, they both move at the same pace.


I can see that you are probably young and eager, but i found the more you try to push this the harder it is to understand. I have done and experienced some things in my time but this is nothing like anything else I have ever tried to do.


It is like courting a black widow at first, just when you think your in there she turns around and devours you.

I think with small capital i would not worry. If you can make 30% in a year consistently and safely with only £100 then you can do the same with £100,000 or a million...Then it does not seem so small especially when you begin to compound.

Just concern with making the pips and xx% return on investment consistently and very safely, then you can worry about getting the capital high and begin to make some real money, there is no limit.

thats what im going to do..
im going to just keep getting the percentages profit on equity.
and hopefully my pot will either build quite quickly by constant profits...or maybe i will find a way to get some more capital into the pot.

you begining find yourself.
there much learning.
ultimately you will find yourself, your true self.
then when you do, you can begin molding what you want to be.

if you add capital from other sources, you may be come unstable again.
as you will discover more of yourself to deal with.

Find your equlibrium first then you find your base, then from there you build.
mostly from profits,
if you cannot build from profits you cannot build.

If cap is too small, then you not have the required resources be in the markets.
the answer would be to go out work and save a nesting for some time.
maybe a few years.
when you ready, then you start find yourself again.
