yeah dude i got the $$$ gbp down.. Hugh Briss thanks! .. but about 100sma i think we dont ned using the 100sma, but change and using trendline only? ..

It's always better to follow the 100 sma. That tells you the dominant trend. You can have lucky trades against the trend anytime but using the 100 sma and trading with the trend increases your probability which is what it's all about.

I tried to re-enter short Eur/usd on 4h today, stoch was going down from overbought heiken closed red, but looks like we will see a bit more up movement.

I'm not at my charts right now, so I can't see what exactly the H4 looks like, but last I saw price had pulled back to the daily 10 EMA. If it pokes higher look for negative divergence on stochastics. Then if you get the green light it will be higher probability.

Yes, a quick look at the daily would tell you not to short right now. Maybe 1.24 would be a good place to look for a sell opportunity?

NZDUSD is brewing up a nice 'head and shoulders' on the daily, right under the MA100 for a nice sell in a day or two perhaps.
Don't ask me, I have no idea what's going on.

Maybe, not much momentum to the upside at the moment but I wouldn't want to be short just yet.

I never look at 4 hour, it just confuses the picture. Better to stick to either one timeframe such as 4 hour or to use two like daily/hourly. Using three or more will always cloud the picture.

Hi Hugh,

I'm lost here..so we are no longer looking at 4H charts?
i realize that i miss a number of trades when looking at 4H..so i have tuned to 1H charts..so its better to use them in conjunction with the Dailys?

Thx for clarifying..I'm using your instructions like a bible mate..

The thread started off a 4H strategy taking direction from the 100 MA.

There is a link on the first page to the updated strategy.

Look at D1 for direction and then trade off the H1 (no need to look at H4).

Worth reading the PDF here, post 1640.

What is confusing to me is the difference in the stochs reading between the D and the 1H - on the D chart are we only looking at the trend, stochs aren't important?

I think someone has answered this already but yes I prefer daily and hourly together and don't use 4 hour charts anymore. If you're just going to use one timeframe then you can still catch some good trades but best to trail the stop quickly and take your profits when you get to 1:2 or 1:3 risk/reward. If you're going to use two timeframes and want H4 to be your trading timeframe then use weekly for the big picture. Like I say I prefer daily and hourly.
