you can be right 100% of the time, if you have the time, money and get thru the drawdown, lets say you went long at 2.0000 you can hold this long for mabe days, months or years untill it comes back around, it might take 30 yrs before we see 2.0000 again but at least your right.

I saw a person who is posting in a forex community at facebook... He talks as if he rule the forex market and he through open challenge that the market will go at specific level...
So I think only an amateur can say they are 100% right

If I wait 30 years then I might get old enough to forget about the position... lolz

If 2,496 posts after, you are writing this statement and this is what you have to say to the audience... well, nobody said we all seeds have to grow up at the same pace.

Actually, from your point of view, what you really mean (but I'm afraid that you still don't know, although you are starting to suspect it) is that you CAN'T predict the market. Well, don't worry, I can't either. Good news is that it is not necessary to predict in order to make money out of markets.

After this brilliant moment, when you've had the needing to come here and write that post, maybe you are starting to notice the key aspect of lot size and leverage and risk control, plus the market randomness.

Not trying to sound rude or aggresive, though. Thinking out of the box is the foremost feature for succeeding in financial markets, and although yours is and odd way to do it, it is indeed. Good luck, 2,496 posts after looks like you are on the right track (in my humble opinion).

you are right . many forex traders dont realise that forex is field of trading and speculation not investment, once it is clear that the market is going against your position you better close and think about the next one. Holding positions that are losing hundreds or thousands of pips results in more losses,waste of time and increasing opportunity cost as you can use that margin for other positions. There is no rationality in holding losing positions that long UNLESS someone is trading Monthly or yearly charts with far away tp

I have seen some traders holding their buy EUR position in 1.34 and still waiting the market to correct. Greece might default or the whole EU might collapse before even recovering back to 1.34

Guys, just check the monthly chart and come to your own conclusion. If anyone entered short at 1.20, 5 years ago, he would be almost at break even. If entered long on at 1.60 on Sep 2007, the would really be broke. His point, I believe it that in general the currency pair are moving in a very wide range. Unless if one is so lucky to enter in the wrong direction at the top or the bottom, then he would be correct. Actually anyone can build a trading strategy on this one.

Of course the answer is no for any trader profitable or not. Pros can be profitable with just about 40% of the time.

I've had a day once in a while where I had 100% wins. Easy, one trade a day with a win but the rest of the days may lose or win so it's not as important with % wins. You know it's all about how you trade and managed it with small losers and big winners.
