Swing trading with heiken ashi and stochs

tuff support at 99.20 level there is atrend in eur / jpy
I had 88 pips in the AUDJPY, 45 pips in the AUDUSD and 40 in the AUDCAD today - chose to let them run as the Daily chart for all show red HA. Now I'm only up 25 pips in the audjpy, I'm down 15 pips in the audusd and I'm at b/e in the aud cad. This feeling sucks! I'm trying to be patient since the Daily chart still shows red HA -- but this is the danger of trading and trying to ride the Daily chart moves...

By the way, I was using the D1/H1 strategy - not giving up, but gotta get better with it...

I'd say you made pretty good trading decisions based on your system. If you are feeling bad right now, I am guessing that maybe you risked a little too much on these trades. But I can see your current dilemma - exit now for roughly breakeven, or wait and hope for a continuation in the AUD down trend.

Exactly - I'm not giving in to the "revenge on the market" idea. I'm just unsure of what my next move should (or shouldn't) be. How much patience should I have? Especially since patience is not a trait I strongly possess to begin with...

If I were you at this point, I would consider closing the profitable and break-even trades and setting a stop on the loss-making trade of 50 pips. Assuming you have not risked more than 1% of your total capital on any one trade, your maximum risk should then, of course, be 1% or less. Losing 1% should not be enough to stress you, so you can then relax and see what the market decides to do. It is quite possible that AUD/USD will drop down several hundred pips if the trend resumes, so you would have a high risk-reward on that position.

Yes and how much did you pay in swap last night? Aud pairs are just not going to go down as smoothly, they pay positive swap and are likely to be bought into strongly still, albeit for shorter holding periods than a large carry trade. What I mean by this is don't short it even if it looks like it will go down! I have said this before on the thread.

Thanks for the reminder - These were minilot trades, as I'm still trying to get used to the new incarnation of your strategy. The swap didn't hurt - this time...

Hi Tess, Read the new strategy posted at the top of the first page. Now I am using daily charts to identify the trend a a signal in the direction of the trend and then using the hourly charts for entries to add on until the trend ends.

Maybe it will but as I've said again and again you're going to be paying the swap every night you hold it open and it will be a bumpy ride.
My NZDUSD trade hit SL... if it was just 1 pip higher it wouldn't man...

Looking at action on the Daily charts, I'm waiting for Long H1 entries on
audusd, nzdusd, and audcad and Short H1 entry on the usdcad. Would anyone be willing to grade my outlook? HB?

Cadjpy doesn't look too bad overall but chopping about a bit on the hourly now, need a clear pullback again. Or maybe take the breakout of the last low?

I wouldn't put you off anything but the aud still says downtrend to me at the moment. It is turning a little on the daily but so are eurusd and gbpusd and I wouldn't want to buy either of those. I think this could be temporary usd weakness and it will fight back. I could be completely wrong of course.

I'm inclined to agree with you. I'm still holding short EUR/USD and EUR/NOK. Movement has been so little in the past 36hrs that there's no reason to change one's previous opinion on the trend.
