QuadrupleX,

You say that you have some others brokers accounts. could you please tell us how is theirs spread on majors pairs in comparison with TS?

Does the price (apread) moves like in the others brokers, for example I have the sensation that the spread in TS moves much smoother that others platforms Iīve seen. In TS prices donīt "vibrates" like in other brokers.

Have you noticed that?

Many thanks!

My main broker is Interactive Brokers and their spreads are ok. Spreads and commissions don't bother me, of course if I can pay less I will but platform stability is my main concern. IB so far has being pretty good on this particular, not perfect but pretty good.

I'm really curious to see how TS behaves but freaking FX solution messed up my check and I'm still waiting for them to send me a second check.

Havenīt you seen the spread (difference between bid and ask) in TS yet?

How is it in comparison with Interactive Brokers, Oanda and your other broker?

Many thanks.

Not yet, my account is approved but not funded. I don't think they let you download the platform with a unfunded account.

Why are you so worried about spreads? Are you a scalper?

If the answer is yes I would advise you to to reconsider your system. I'm yet to see a scalper that makes money consistently over a long period of time.

Just my 2 cents.

Ok, and among the other brokers?. We will wait for your comparison when you have your account active, please. Iīm very interested in the comparison TS / IB.

Yes Iīve been scalping the last 9 years as my way only income, so congratulations, you already know one!!!, hehehehe.

But for beeing sincere, scalping stocks mainly. My interest in forex is to have a tight spread for the EAīs that I want to use in real after a period in simulator.

Many thanks.

With all due respect Piyayo I need more than somebody's word to believe that a scalper is consistent long term. I hope you don't take it the wrong way but after years reading forums I got a little skeptical about what people say.

Anyways as soon as my account is up and running with TS I will post about it.

Of course, itīs up to you to believe it or not. In stocks I can assure itīs possible. No idea if itīs possible in forex yet.

Whenever somebody express his opinion with education and respect, canīt annoy and are well accepted.

We will wait you review, please.

Many thanks.

Maybe I'm just too stupid but I don't get to message Tradestation through their contact formular. The telephone nr. field doesn't accept my number. No matter in which way I fill it in (just numbers without prefics or in brackets). Maybe you Americans have a different format that I am not aware of?

I don't want to phone them because my spoken English is just bad and they don't provide an email address on their site.

I had the same problem when signed up, I am from Sweden Europe, apparantly a bug in the application,
I then entered my fathers number instead and that worked, and later I told them to change it back to mine via email.
you can put a number to a close friend or to someone in the family, and see if that work better, then change it once you get the application trough.

Here are some pictures of TradeStation charts when the 'Account Orders & Positions' setting is turned on. It shows the entry/exit markers and position sizes (10,000 = 1 mini-lot). The vertical (price) axis can be customized to e.g. 20pips or 50pips interval, and the horizontal (time) axis is based on New York Eastern Time. The 5mins pictures showed time axis from "2:00" to "12:00" which intuitively covered the active trading hours from 2amET to 12pmET, London open is 3amET and New York open is 8amET.

Not that it's a big deal, but you can do something like this in MT4 by going to the history tab and dragging the desired trade record onto your chart.

So it will re-display the arrow where the old trade was

My EA leaves all the old trades on the chart. As long as I don't restart the terminal or change something in the EA settings (which restarts the EA), the history of trades, closeouts, drawings, etc all stay there.

Er.. not sure what you mean exactly. I was only referring to what MT4 does out-of-the-box (without any EA or script.)

Looks like this:
http://i.imgur.com/7uJKR.png

Blue dashed lines means a buy, red dashed lines would be a sell (not seen here.)

The single dashes (blue and red) represent the stop and TP levels of the order at the time it was closed.

Again, no EA needed... just go to the history tab, and click-and-drag the desired trade onto your chart. MT4 will draw this to visualize the trade.

Now... if you want to go further than this, there are EAs that do this as well and provide a bit more info, or do it automatically so you don't have to click and drag each trade you want to review. But for me, the built-in feature is good enough.

hey guys, i have already opened an account with tradestation. but i have yet to transfer funds over. my sales rep says that tradestation is an ecn. however you guys here said its an stp. i saw the documentation on the first page of the thread. but i have tried to find it on google with no avail.

hence, i asked my sales rep if the information regarding whether or not tradestation is an ecn or stp or even market maker type broker is avaliable on their website. in short, i was looking for some form of "official" documentation to back this info up...

i thought this request was pretty justified. however, he has not replied me since then....

just wondering if any1 is able to find some documentation on the true nature of their business....

its just strange to me that tradestation does not make it clear at all.... given its reputation...

Your questions have been answered ..... you just didn't think hard enough about it. What is your definition of "STP"? What is your definition of "ECN"? What is your definition of "market maker firm"?

The document on page 1 explained it clearly, yet you want proof that it can be googled. TradeStation Forex charges no commissions(Hint#1), and earns a mark-up of spreads (Hint#2) which is very low already. TradeStation Forex also don't have a clearing desk (Hint#3). Do you need an "official" document to help you decide if it is "ECN" or "STP" or "market maker firm"? To me, the questions are already answered (see hints) if you even understood what these terms actually meant.
No longer trading forex. Looking for full time job.

TS is a highly regarded broker, they have the highest reputatuion and have been around for ages, the stp model won't trade against you, they do not have a dealing desk, the orders go straight through to the market, you won't see any re-quotes or stuff like that. I traded with stp's before, they are actually very good and should not be compared to the dealing desk model. I rather trade with a stp than a ecn because it's much cheaper,

Yep. No problems so far.

Since my charts are pretty much naked and the few indicators I use are proprietary I'm not the best person to talk about their charting package.

So far they are not playing games with me. The execution is good and the connection is rock solid, again SO FAR. Lets see if things will change or not.

Due to politics and other stuff that I don't agree here on FF I don't feel like posting anymore. I was planning to do a in deep review of TS but it will not happen.

Good luck to all.
