Congratulations. Looks like a nice set of trades... The trailing stop idea is a good exit. I do the same thing with another method I use

I would not make counter trend trades... They do not have a very high probability and require constant monitoring and the potential move is extremely limited.

Buying the dips when they touch the major trend line, even if you get stopped and go back in, increases your potential and compounds your earnings by using the market's money to fund the expansion instead of your own capital, because each profit on the way up pays for the next buy order...

Then if you want to be conservative, take profit on a trailing stop and only buy again when the price punches back up through the trend line.

If price reverses and heads down. do the same thing, shorting each time the price rallies up and touches the trend line and again let the market pay for the next short order... But only start the process of shorting after two swing high points have been made so you can draw an accurate trend line down.

By definition, in each market direction move you will only be wrong once, at the end of the run.

This way you are always trading with an established trend and you are always buying the dips in an uptrend and selling the rallies in a down trend.

adam, you should put at least a 55MA on the chart so you can see the overall trend a little better. This may help getting a false reversal on you shorter timeframes such as the one above in your posting.

I did move to 55MA to have a clearly entry point !

I had suggested this in a earlier post. Look at the 15 ma and where it changes to negative, and the Sar is on top of the candles, instead of waiting for the cross to make the trade, make it when those two are doing that. I might be totally wrong but, even if you waited a little bit after that even on the second dot of the SAR, you could have gotten a bit earlier. You might get alot more false signals though but never know

I would use an extra filtering ma - in the crosses....so you might have your 15ma, with a 8 ma cross to filter the trade. This way your not selling at the run off from the volume on any of your original crosses.

This methods works well for myself.

1. i am basically using the same system but adding a few extras

1. 63 ema gives basic trend
2. using the vegas daily range probabilty theory
3. wait for the cross to happen
4. then change to break even, then use a 15 trailing stop

only been doing this for two weeks but still very effect.

Someone said that downfall of MA systems is ranging. What is ranging? Thanks.

Ranging is when the market is going sidewise. No trend up or down. Look at a long EMA like a 100 or a 50 and check the slope. If it is going sidewise the market is ranging.
