However all you guys really are in an absolutely futile argument/discussion. THere is absolutely no better way of trading than using the method/system/RR and MM that has been specifically adapted to your own trading personality.
1:1 or 1:7.....who gives a shit....if the people using those RR's have the psych sorted out and their method adapted to suit, they will be succesful.
And this is not a criticism to any of you..in fact it seems all of the regular posters here have their trading sorted out ......in fact once once you have overcome those first few years trading and you have that unconscious awareness and constant profitiability trading becomes boring....probably why you guys are in here stirring each other up
THe fact remains that there are a multitude of trading styles and to go along with it EVERYONE thinks differently so to say one i better than the other is simply rubbish.
I paid for and completed a course a year or so ago with a very well known trader/teacher. I wont metnion his name because he is an honest man with integrity (unusual in this game). He not only teaches his method but he trades along side you openly showing you his trades. He trades every day on the 15 minute chart. He looks for two trades a day and sets his TP at 20 pips. His stop loss is at a "safe" area....say last swing, but it is more often than not anything from 20 to 40 pips away. It always concerned me and when I asked him about the reverse RR his comment was concentrating on RR will just send you broke slower. Now Personally I couldnt get that way of trading to work for me....I tried everything and I was trading alongside him...its the perfect example of how 10 traders using the same method all taught the same will all trade it differently. Whereas HE has a ridiculously high strike rate and averages about 150 to 200 pips a week. THis has been the case for about the last 4 years or so. And I can confidently say that because his trades are transparent and you can watch him take em (you guys can believe it or not but I have no reason to bullshit about this)
For me.....I would rather take trades with a better RR...its simply what makes me feel comfortable and allows me some mistakes whilst I try and iron out the creases with my psych issues.....overtrading, impatience etc.
WHy dont you guys all enter one of those trading comps and see how you go...it would be interesting.

As the TF goes up the SL and TP will likely increase, I'd suggest 200 for 4H.

The bigger the TP and SL the more trading becomes a 50/50 game, so if your a poor none profitable trader ( 99% ) then you'll still get a win rate of 47% area and only lose money very slowly, ofcourse if your profitable you'll ownly win at 53% and make money very slowly.

Which is why people shy away from M1, 80% win rate is possible, but so is a 80% lose rate, then increased frequency of trades for same risk % = rich fast or broke fast.

Yes I am sure......many traders succesfully use martingale and averaging amongst others....its common knowledge that almost any method can be fine tuned to be succesful provided th person using it has the discipline and psychological demons sorted out. I dont dismiss anyones trading method. Its just the traders with overinflated egos that cant get that system to work for them feel the need to criticise it and tell the world there is no way it can work. Same old shit mate...just becasue YOU cant get it to work for you doesnt mean it wont work for others....an open mind is a valuable asset in trading.

Yep I do agree....but they are irrelevant too....your perspective on success will also differ from mine....one persons idea of success might be measure purely on finances....mine's not, but its the same argument....how do you measure success??
ANd sure there is unrealised potential, but thats human nature and in all of us....wasted opportunity.....nope....there are plenty of trades to be taken every day......I dont consider any opportunities wasted and realistically you can only judge wasted opportunities after the fact. Market goes where it wants so its only hindsight that will tell you about wasted opportunities.

I apologize, for the owner and followers this thread because the topic it´s not this, but... i promisse it´s my last post in here, sorry.

The behavior of some guy(s), it's because this business it´s a little lonely, boring and some times stressful normally if we are successful in trading.

And people need to interact with each other.

Some, go help others in this business, like in foruns, webinars, blogs, etc..
Some, go make others activities outside this business, like sports, join a clube, make volunteering, dating, etc... "socialize".

But some people continue 24 hours a day connected to this business and is when they lose discernment, they do not have a life, then comes a big feeling of loneliness.

It´s then when appears such "gurus" who do not make a constructive dialogue but destructive to others and call them stupid by other words.

And yes, there's still hope for this guy(s)!
