Still don't have the guts to play (NFP), in hindsight EUR.USD would have been a nice one at BRN

90 pips for me. Laws of Supply and Demand at their best. Taking money and running at this stage.

NFP point to further downtrend but where it will resume from is anyones guess. Am out for the week. Too risky to trade at present levels in either direction.

Have a good weekend folks..

Whilst kicking my behind for missing out in the Euro, I took some time during the WTF analysing.
Enjoy and have a great weekend everybody.

The compression in EURUSD yesterday and this morning indicated that the price would want to shoot up at NFP. It's nice to be able to read what the Big Boys are up to. This is the first time I was able to do it - my big day! :-)

Hi all

We're working hard on making the other site better.

We're using Joomla for it. I am, however having a problem with it at the moment, which, I'm sure, would be very simple to fix by anybody who's used to Joomla

So if you know Joomla, or know somebody who could help, please let me know

has nothing to do with compression,
it's a big ass shakeout, might be retested

a break out with good result, the spike pole is forming a w ish pattern as a flag, as this is a "reason" and market closed under those conditions,
both directions are possible when market reopens.
So either completing the flag, maybe as a gap.
Or else testing the cause, origin of this move.

What is the difference between a pole and a shake out and what enables a pole to become a pole?

The pole is the result of the shake, at least in this example.
It can result in different pattern, causes, such as a rectange formation.
Or less likely a base, coz that would mean a volume dry up.
Each pattern tells you how badly the investors want this or that to happen. It's just another piece of the pie.

The shake is the result of big boys buying into an area price has never been before, or at least not since very long, something small money holders should never do until the zone is tested.

So that's what created the huge volume and boosted up my atr rate like mad Nice effort, now lets see the result next week

For me i think the shakeout as you refer to it is LQ, price is simply digging for a deeper demand, and the pole happens (pole up) because now price has met true demand and the price levels it needs to surpass north have had all the supply consumed during the descent (compression) therefore I don't understand what you mean by it has nothing to do with compression? Maybe I have mis understood you?

Uhhh? This is what we do all the time here...

About the Shakouts ,I have studied VSA in the past, and I know for a fact that it is analyzing the volume and the spread/range of a bar. So what does it tell you, well it tells you how many buyers/sellers are in a single bar. This is great in a way but the problem is that it tells you just a part of the story and not the whole picture. A shakout or any other vsa bar tells you what to do only when a bar is printed on a chart. Supply/demand tells you what to do and when to do it way before price comes to your zone..
For me this was the bigest trading revelation.

Either from a chart pattern perspective or from a supply/demand perspective, that is not compression. It is pretty much what was written on the chart - a rejection then a retest deeper.

You didn't look at les paul's chart properly, he labeled the areas he said were compression, these are the areas we are talking about. You said that it has nothing to do with compression.

In regards to VSA, i spent alot of time studying vsa, the malcolm thread, master the markets, wyckoff etc. I know a guy called Gavin Holmes has made a lot of money marketing VSA and I've watched him scalp the s and p using VSA and it really was rather embarassing. Maybe if he had spent more time trading than plugging Infinity Futures. To me VSA just complicates things. When you introduce so many variables into analysing a chart, the variables start to contradict themselves. In my opinion VSA is a marketing scam. Let the flames begin lol. But seriously, s and d and pa is all one needs imo.
