I have decided to finally make the plunge and move over to Ninjatrader or Tradestation platforms for FX futures. Problem is I'm not sure which to go for.

Any traders out there used them? Ideally used them both?

I'd appreciate your opinions on which to go for. Which has the best charts, brokers, features etc...

Thanks

1: Ninja: There is a free version of Ninja. With many brokers you can get free data feed. Look on their website for a list. Ninja support sucks, but for free... it works, many chart types, renko, etc. The free version does not allow on chart order entry, you must use the brokers software.
If you write your own indis Ninja uses C-sharp which can be a real challenge.

2: Tradestation: I think you must deposit a large amount with a certain broker or pay a monthly fee to use. Have not looked at it in a long time so do not know the details. It is reported to be a great product. Write your own indis in EasyLanguage (easier than C-sharp I guess ha).

3: Sometime back I used eSignal for data feed and charting - really liked it. I think they have an order entry interface now to many brokers.

Thanks man, appreciate your input...

I will have a look into eSignal and have also found MultiCharts so think I am confusing myself even more!

Too many choices is a good thing I suppose!

I will go with Tradestation. You need to deposit 1-2K and the platform is free for trading forex. The quality of the data is one of the best in industry.

Good luck!

Dear Mogulmedia,

My name is John Naab; I work as a Registered Representative at TradeStation. We offer software and brokerage services for Equities, Options, Futures and Forex.

Our Forex offering has no monthly fees and is commission free. TradeStation makes money on each Forex trade from a small markup embedded in the spread, which is the difference between the bid price and the ask price. We offer free real-time FX data and our historical FX database includes 6 months of tick data, 8+ years of intraday data, and 40+ years of daily data.

The minimum funding for a Forex only account is $2,000.

I have included some links from our website if you wish to learn more about our Forex offering.

Our fee structure and funding levels are different if you want to trade Equities, Options or Futures. If you are interested in these products, it would be easier to speak on the phone to discuss these accounts. Thanks for your interest in TradeStation and have a great day.

Regards,
