citifx have 680 customers there average account size is 100k altho you can get in with 10k

I had worked this out a long time ago that a broker has no reason to hunt your stop. Imagine you are a broker. You have a net long of EURUSD of 10k lots but you actually have 40k long and 30k short for a net of 10k. So as a broker your total risk is the 10k so you just hedge that by having your own 10k long position at another ecn broker or some bank. Obviously you will be continually changing this position. The point is though that for 60k or 85% of the positions never were even opened. The money stayed at the broker and essentially a losing customer is paying for the profits of a winning customer. The broker pockets the entire spread of those 60k lots. Now the broker in theory has no reason to hunt stops since he will continue to make money from successful customers hand over fist. The only real risk the broker has is that he cannot have his hedge always be exactly equal to his risk but I believe he makes so much money from the spreads that it makes up for it. Additionally a successful trader (especially a day trader) will make the broker many many times more from his spreads that he is paying than he could by hunting his stops and wiping him out in one week. I myself have thought I got hunted and then i pulled up another account from another broker and the chart was identical and yes I have had trades go to .1 pip away from my stop only to turn into a winning trade.

OMG, you have one live account with Oanda! wow that must mean you are master trader who knows it all! So, you have one live account with Oanda so that means you know for sure Oanda doesn't stop hunt and by default none of the others do?

What happened you won a few trades a row and you think you know what you are doing?

Seriously, how long have you been trading? A year? You probably trade one dollar lots and think that, that is a lot.

Before I left I saw all sorts of shenanigans. Great that they worked out for you. I don't know maybe it all started after they got sold.

The nail in the coffin for me with them was after three times a row during news, the inevitible news spike would come, then they would disconnect from me. In the mean time my trade would be postive, often by a lot, but by the time I got reconnected the trade would of course be losing. In other words they were purposely disconnecting me and probably a bunch of other traders that could have profited off news spikes.

Now if I didn't have a trade on, guess what, magically the news spike didn't disconnect my system. They pulled that and other stunts all the time.

I bitched and got money handed back to me. Now why would they hand back the money, if it was a legitimate loss? I'll tell you why, because I told them I recorded the dates and times of the disconnections with PC video and threatened to report them to regulatory agencies.

So you replied to my request for you to prove it with banter and stupidity... PROVE THE OANDA STOP HUNT. And dont give me a news trade where they widen the spread to protect themselves and you just so happen to have your little 5$ piker stop 20 pips above it.

The point I am trying to make is for the newbies asking questions and then having to listening to this garbage by consistent losing traders who blame there wackness on brokers hunting stops.

The fact that you don't think brokers stop hunt traders, proves to me you've probably been trading live a year or less, more likely a month or so, probly had a winning streak and now think you know what you are doing.

Read the TOA that brokers are required to make you read and sign, it clearly states that they are the trading COUNTER party. (which equals when you win they lose & visa versa) Even without wild spikes it is quite as easy thing for them to move price a pip or so here or there or delay things or slip things to catch close stop losses. Also, ANY market maker including Oanda makes their own prices, when you trade with them you aren't trading out in the open market, you are trading the prices they give you, that vaugely mirror the market. They control the price feed, any time you have an issue with them or any other market maker about where price did or didn't go, they will tell you that and point you to the TOA that you signed.

P.S. I guaratee I have lost and made more money in trading than you will ever see in your little micro account. Keep trading pennies and acting like you know what you are doing clown.

P.P.S. there is no, "ok," in trading forex, you are either very profitable or not, which means when you say, "OK," you are probably losing your account slowly while making insubstantial wins, or constantly breaking even.

I'm sorry the reality of trading makes you mad at people, but that is a fact, brokers and other entities stop hunt the forex market hard core. If you can't accept that and cope with it you are going to get burned by it.

It's requotes that annoy me more. Every time it happens I am convinced it's just so the broker can manipulate prices!

Problem is there is little that can be done to prove it.

I am seriously considering moving to Ninjatrader soon to trade forex futures instead...

Your post from 2009 says everything anyone needs to know about you. New to forex trading in 2009 and just three years later you are an expert, that knows enough about forex to tell people who have been trading forex and other markets for over a decade, that stop hunting is a myth. Hello everyone! I have recently started looking into trading Forex. Yes, another rookie. I have just been reading for the past week or so, and think I am ready to start playing with Demo's for awhile. I have no money to be messing around with live (accually have no money at all) but would like to start to practice reading charts and trading whilst developing a strategy and money managment for when I do finally get some money to play with.
I have been searching for a system that would fit my style of trading (and good for a rookie to learn), and so far I have intrest in James16 strategy, and Phillip Nel's 4 hour MACD system. What do you guys think? I am really not a gambler so keeping really low risk and tight money managment is something I need.
Anyway, I would like to test these two, first starting with James16's strategy because it seems more simple and good to learn price action with, which seems like you need to know with any other system/strategy.
One more question, I am on a Linux system, so I was looking for a broker with a good demo program using a web platform... any suggestions? So far ACM, and GFT are the only one's I see.

P.S. thats one of things I hate so much about forex factory you get all varieties of mental and emotional rejects here, that have an axe to grind or love to argue their own opinion. Here we have a guy thats only been trading forex 3 years, (thats still considered green), yet he has the gall to go around acting like his opinion on stop hunting is proof postive that it doesn't happen.

I wish they has a some way to screen out all these emotional and intelletually stunted rejects so you could be aware right away when some asshat is spouting off because he had nothing better to do with his loser life.

The really funny thing is that you know those guys on the net who point out someone's grammatical mistakes, and then make one inadvertently in the process?

One trader is accusing another of being a newbie and looking for a system 3 years ago. Said trader however, was still jumping around looking for systems in 2009 - 2010 as well, as is easily verifiable.

Go in with a market order, then you wont get a reqoute. when you set stop orders, is when you get the requote message. That isn't manipulation. When you set a stop order it says buy at this price only, so you get requote that says, "do you really want this buy? Price isn't there anymore price has changed."

A market order you go in where ever it is at the time you push the button and the signal makes it to your broker. Also, stop order is showing your entry to the broker ahead of time... showing your cards. I've seen stop orders hit by just a pip and reverse as soon as they were on. That is another broker shenanigan. Another form of stop hunting...but that doesn't happen it's a myth, and seeing it happen dozens and dozens of times isn't proof. Monroe wants concrete proof, ah never mind he'll get his proof nex t account he blows.

LOL this guy Kumo is a total loser of forex (and life most likely) with a severe lack of knowledge. He is taking out his aggression towards the market on me, with child-like put downs. sad.... even more sad that I am still responding.... damn.

Yep, but I never said I wasn't doing that in 2009-2010, but I was trading more than a decade prior to that in both stock and forex, chode. So, what's your point?

I know from first hand experience that stop hunts are a fact of life in trading. The hell with anyone eles's years of personal experience...he's the master and he knows..stop hunts are myth, anyone who says otherwise is just whining and has sour grapes.

I always look at different systems and methods for forex. I'll keep looking and working on the things I like until I tighten up into a method works like gangbusters. There is always a way to do something better, anyone who repeats the BS that, "any system will win with good moneymanagement," hasn't traded for any length of time. You are either losing consistently, winning consistently or breaking even, there is no magical middle ground where money management builds your account slowly over time. That is the type of thing that noobs who read all the over repeated trading idioms quote. And that is why I am always looking to find the next best thing or put it together myself.

Oanda has never stop hunted me, ever.

LOL, you child. I run a business outside of forex where I take home 300K+ a year. I've been trading for the better part of the past decade or so, making and losing more than you make in year. So, no problems with my life or lack of knowledge.

You on the other hand, I would bet money that you work in retail or a fast food restaurant and watch the screens for hours at time with your pitiful little micro account and dream of turning it into millions one day.

Guess what. Not going to happen, go to McColledge so you can be the manager one day.
