    Greece’s New Democracy party placed first in all six opinion polls published in the country today as its leader Antonis Samaras said the cost of leaving the euro area would be greater than staying in the shared currency. Only a certified idiot would ditch the Euro and leave the zone.
So let me ask you this, how is Greece supposed to payback the loans that they have already taken at 20%?

Don't forget the Greek government is STILL taking in less then they're spending.

The ONLY way for Greece to survice is to leave the Euro so they can devalue their currency. Yes the price of a toobrush will increase by 2.5x up to 5x what it currently costs. But it has to be done.

Doesn't anyone else know anything about economics around here? GEEZ!

The problem with the eurozone is this:

Countries have no financial methods of stimulating their individual economies.

The mandate of the ECB is to control inflation for the EU members. However when on the PIIGS needs to stimulate their economy in the past they would devalue their currency; drachma, lira, etc., now they can not.

The economies of Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands is very dissimilar to that in Greece, Italy and other PIIGS. A one-size fits all approach doesn't fit.

In addition the southern members of the EU have traditionally lagged behind the northern members and unless and until a system is found to correct this; dispairity

Yep, I do agree with you.Where is Greece going to get the money from to pay the debt, if Germany can't bankroll them? If Greece wants to stay in Euro then she has to follow euro zone austerity guidelines, she can't have it both ways, no austerity but basket full of money.

I believe euro zone can solve their problems, but it will take time, a good result from Greece election can't be panacea to euro zone problems; what about the other PIIGS?

SCARE-MONGERING, the tactics have been used over and over again, so called credible organisations putting out such information is only for one reason and one reason alone. All of the greek assets will be sold off at firesale prices. Greece will not leave the EURO and they will pay for it for decades to come. Quite possibly there could be a mass exodus from Greece to other European countries. Not just wealth but people as well to escape poverty.

Iets just propaganda, greece Will lease the euro in the end, not because they want to but because the rest of europe will have to let them to go to save their own ass.
