I believe darkstar is sitting on a pile of unsold books....maybe his publisher...the cover was wrong...the word fun shouldn't have been there and that picture makes it look like a sci-fi comic book.
but I have no doubt its worth the money.

Gotta say tho' DS 150 bucks plus shipping to the United Kingdom is steep, (i'm sure it's worth every penny and a lot more), but holding out for a second hand copy...

Keep dreaming that buddy.. You could never trade orderflow with a sort of expert advisor if that is what you meant. Thats the beauty of it. You have to develop a right mindset to be able to understand market sentiment, where stops are lying, what other market participants are thinking etc.

PS: sorry for the offtopic post DS. Too bad that you cant post in other threads anymore, cause i was always eager to read your posts and find some golden nuggets in them.

Correct me if I'm wrong DS, but by buying the book new for you, you'll have access to the order flow forum along with the chat room to get help live. Which 'IMO' is just as important as the book.

I think I will read the cheaper titles on Microstructure available on amazon and Carol Oslers work first. Without any refund policy, I worry I will read something which is already obvious to me...i am no newbie.

As for nubcake's rather typical raw-tongued no-it-all lecture: I disagree

The very best place to find new systems is on forums...perhaps nubcake is selling one of the Clickbank EAs and thinks newbies are better off getting ripped off by some carsalesman selling an MA-Crossover shrinkwrapped as an 'genetic-algorithmic black box'

If you have't read anything about microstructure before than there is a healthy chance that you wont read something that is already obvious to you.

currently iam reading Larry Harris-- Trading & Exchanges.. till now i think its the best read on understanding market working, liquidity..
If it was easy, everyone would do it.

A user-friendly read, and very well written. Order Flow Trading filled a number of gaps in my knowledge: microstructure, liquidity disequilibrium, episodic volatility, latent and pending interest, stop cascades. The chapter on technical traders confirmed much of what I already knew: why support and resistance 'works'. The core orderflow tactics gave me a new setup to add to my arsenal.

Darkstar talks about the "metagame". By gaining an understanding of how other market participants think and behave, orderflow can potentially tell you where prices are heading and why, allowing you to trade along with the "smart money". However, there are many potential orderflow setups intentionally not covered in the book. As Darkstar writes "keep thinking about the metagame, episodic volatility and the liquidity model, and the myriad of ways in which you can exploit the choices of other market participants".

Folk who are looking to be spoon fed a color-by-numbers system will likely be disappointed. Instead, Order Flow Trading is what I would call a "thinking man's" book — take the core ideas, understand what the metagame is all about, and then develop the material further for yourself.

Well, I finally read the book just last week. I actually had pre-ordered the book from way back when and probably in that first group to get the book. But it was a point in time I was falling out of love with trading and ended up taking a break. I sorta had pieced together some of the ideas from the forum posts, but not really. The book has been put together well and the flow of information really made things click and make sense. The world of order flow is interesting indeed.

I have only taken 2 trades from trade setup #1 and both were winners. I don't think it's luck either, because both trades played out as described. Seeing a level acting as a magnet for price opened my eyes on how price behaves in certain circumstances.

I'm really happy with the purchase. Thank You DS. It's all about the flow.

Interesting review as I usually value your opinion.

I struggle with one aspect of this whole thing. If a trader has some wonderful idea to bring us that can help us all propel our profits, you would have to assume that they are using their own ideas/knowledge to propel their own profits. I just can't wrap my head around why that trader would then spend so much time writing and promoting a book for 99$ a hit. If it was just a case of "giving something back" then give it out gratis. Just seems a lot of work for scant money compared to what good, experienced traders make each and every day.

I may still buy it, though

It's not a matter of giving something back but rather diversifying your sources of income. Royalties/licensing/books/etc-based income is passive income while trading will always require you to work at it regularly. Besides, the business of "teaching the masses how to trade" is a very profitable one and growing... This is a market with huge demand, so I suppose I would do the same... if I was a GURU trader!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Though, another consideration is that when it comes to managing OPM, having written a book on the subject goes a long way toward establishing credibility.

1. Price rises to the disadvantage of the positive order flow (triggering buy stops & take-profit orders) and the advantage of the sellers who will enter at the market.
2. Price rises to the advantage of the positive order flow, triggering their orders to get long into the market.

He has 1144 posts on this forum, a deleted thread about stop hunting (restored) on his site, there are thousand's of post by people who followed him, Research papers and other books that have been quoted many times in discussions. All of this stuff is free and available for everyone to make use of it.

People are too lazy to work (hard) on the "free" stuff scattered all over the net and they dont want to pay for a book which has same information concentrated in one place.

What to do?
