I have taken position trades with S/D trading. They usually originate from a daily or weekly zone. The draw back is that you have to be able to stomach some pretty big swings in price. It's doable just depends on your personality and what you like and can "stomach"

Then here in America I am not allowed to "Hedge". Not that I would hedge this position, but if I have a very long term EU short I will not be able to do an EU longs unless I did it with another account.

So for me anymore it is swing and intraday with a little scalping

Thank you for your response. The draw back of having to stomach some pretty big swings in price is a concern.

With regards to not being allowed to "Hedge". When we were allowed to hedge, it was a last ditch effort to save a trade gone bad. I had to do it couple times - locked in the loss and then traded around it to make up the difference before cutting it loose.

One thing that really burns my arse is the meddling and intervention that has occurred in the past few years. For example: what happened to Glastegel? What perfect timing before the fall back in 2008... and did the stock market really recover? A picture is worth a 1000 words or in this case a few trillion dollars: http://chart.ly/tjxvukumore. Cant wait for QE3 and 4....

And my favorite: After the fact - The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. What a load of Shite. And, written by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd? - 2 moral and upright men. Well, I can't say for certain that Barney is a man. Feck FIFO, Feck 50:1 and Feck no hedging.

But I'm not bitter.

I do appreciate your input and look forward to your post and others here. In addition, I checked out your thread and look forward to reading more.
