Fana, this is an old thread started in 2009. I haven't read it (except the first page) but don't you think jacson has moved on since then? Did he ask you to advertise it here?

I think most people come to this thread and expect it to be just like all the other threads on this forum and others, where others try to hold the new posters hand to guide them through the authors methods/system of rules to follow for taking their position entries and exits, it takes a while for newbies here to realise that this is not at all like that (neither the thread or the way of trading), to me (and I hope I have got it right now) it is about survival and managing your way safely in and out of the market, this is a big undertaking to get your mind and emotions around that this is trading (surviving) not taking positions (hold and hope). some see after a little while that it will take a lot of effort to make this work for themselves and just get on with it, some think they get it instantly and want to prove it to everyone through their posts, then they quickly come to the realisation that they have not got it and it will take more work, at this point a lot get frustrated, take it out on others or just give up and move on to other threads and some will never get it as they are not at all ready to accept the truth about themselves and being able to trade consistently profitably.


We like to follow rules in this world that's why governments and dictatorships get away with what they do, so trying to get your head around the fact that there are no rules in the market is a big big thing.


What you have created here is very very special and there are plenty of people here who just want to help others on their journey as they can see what a difference your thread has made to them and just feel the need to share their experiences to give a little back, but we must all remember the emperor moth story is a major part of the journey. Unfortunately and very sadly there will always be beasts wealding shadowless knives and others wanting to create chaos and destroy that what is good and benefits others, there is not a lot we can or need to do about them as their day will come to them.

I had tried to restrain myself from talking too much here so as to tame the scorpions within. Most of the time, I just listen. Listen to what is good and usable for me and discard the rest.

Like many here, you have changed the way I trade and view the challenges in my life. I used to be a very bitter person, always putting the blame on circumstances for things that have gone wrong in my life. In this 2+ years that I've spent on this thread, learning to trade, has transformed me into another person. I now understand that the future is what I make of it as I live the best of every moment now. I learnt that no matter how big the storm will be, it will eventually past. I started to embrace the life that I live for what it's worth. All this would not have been possible if not for what you have shared. Your trading MO as well as your life experiences.

I remembered that you once shared a pdf of Warren Buffett. There's a quote in it that I still remember till now. "I can strive for excellence. But perfection, that is the work of God". Indeed, no matter how hard we strive, we are bound to fall short of perfection". And that is the precise moment were grace will abound more and more. That is the reason for hope. And hope for a new beginning.

You said that you don't know who are friends or not. You know what? Me neither. But maybe I worry less because I don't have much to offer here, except for a few post of encouragement once in a while. But I believe one thing. That if we only love and help friends, then we are no different from the tax collector. I believe that God has placed you in great darkness, probably much more then most of us here can bear, because He sees you as a great light. And only in the most difficult of circumstances, the darkest of placest, can you shine the brightest. I don't know how many true friends I have here either. But as far as I know, I have received enough undeserved goodwill that I should allow it to touch the life of others when possible.

Back to the issue of trading, I have not make my millions yet. But I have been consistantly profitable by following to the best of my ability on the things that you have taught me. That's as far as I will share about my trading. I need to keep the scorpions in check.

So, if you are feeling tired, take a break. It is ok to rest. If you need a listening ear, many here are willing to hear you out. As you have given us much more then we can ever repay. If you need to be cranky, please go ahead. For we still love you anyway. But do not give up on the friends that you have here. We may not be perfect, but I choose to believe that some of us are true.

I would like to end off by sharing a quote from Winston Churchill, which has been an encouragement to me whenever I am feeling out of sorts. "If you are going through hell, keep going".
