My own developed benkyalate system

Below is an image where the black arrows in both the chart as the indicator, showed where you should have bought. The TF is 4 hours. Let's wait and wait for what may happen in the coming hours.

I think this was one of the best threads on FF and it is sad that it is so inactive now. Since I am a believer in the CoG for reverse trading...I think that I will post here. Maybe others who still trade the CoG will come back. Who knows.....

At any rate, I trade the CoG with and without a TMA according to whether or not I need a better understanding of PA. I am 1min TF trader. I do not do Top Down analysis, neither do I refer to other tfs for direction. I only trade the aud/usd and eur/usd because of the spread. (It doesnt take me long to get back into profit.)

I trade according to rules of CoG. "Failure, Confluence, and Trigger". Failure of price to break a strong band. Confluence of pivot and indicator. Trigger for entry.

I do not show my bottom indies, as I rarely use them to enter the trade and bottom indicators (I believe) are personal to the trader because he/she must trust them to make important decisions. There are plenty here. Sacupay Montana, for instance, is great.

But here is why I trade the 1 min chart:
-trade set ups almost every 15 to 30 min.
-contrary to popular beliefs, price doesnt move that fast (try waiting between set ups!)
-You can make more pips in 3 hours than most TFs by trading the "noise" that traders try to avoid.
-for those who like excitement....it's a rush!
-The average swing is about 20 pips during the LO and the NO so making 60 to 100 pips a day can be expected. I shoot for 50.
-you are not sitting around all day for entries. Make your pips and go play!
- the one minute chart is beautiful to me, as opposed to noisy



This morning gave up over 100 pips in less than 6 hours! All the while my adrenaline was pumping with excitement. (Or it could be the music that I have playing in the background to keep my left and right brain connected!)

But at any rate, I did not get all of these swings but I made my goal for today and more.

Hope there are more travelers in the CoG Universe!

P.S. As I continue in this tread, I will not post any signals as I do trade the 1 min and there isnt time to trade and post at the same time (plus I am in a skype chat room while I am trading). However, I am willing to post pictures, exchange thoughts and explore possibilities.

So today, I was only able to profit off of two moves between 11 gmt and 14 gmt. They were enough to meet my quota but not enough to brag about.




1st entry:
As you can see, price broke out of the tma and hit a strong level of the CoG. Priced also failed at MR3. So because I had confluence of trendline, support and indy, I jumped in.
2nd entry:
Price broke out of the TMA (which represents divergence), went pass a strong level of the CoG then failed at R2. Confluence, Trigger, entry!


Just from these two moves alone, I was able to capture 51.1 pips on the eur/usd!

So here is Monday's 1 min trades. TF yielded over 70 pips. Not bad for a days work.

I dont mind sharing my template. But as some of you already know, some things on my template aren't mine to give but those things that are, I will share gladly.

The things that are not mine to give, like the ADR, the spread, etc, will not change the scope of the trading template as they are just extra info. And as I have mentioned before, a template is an extension of a trader's personality. Take what you need from my template to make it yours.



PS. the FX Aimer is my toy and not really necessary for the trade. I use it for scalping. But the settings are for a 5 digit broker. Set accordingly.

so lets talk shop. We will start off mastering reversals. Then gradually, we can add how to use the TMA and CoG for a trending market. Since the market only trends 40% of the time, learning range reversals should get you enough pips to make it by.
What do I do that has bought me success with the CoG:

1. Always trade in the direction of the CoG. UNLESS....Price extends far out of the CoG. see example

2. I use the bands like some ppl use the fibonacci. "If PA hits this band, it should have enough momentum to hit X band." So in other words, I trade using the TMA for price set up (price extending outside the TMA (divergence), but I use the CoG bands to measure momentum and give me an idea of the target area.

3. I enter ONLY if SSL pulls out of the TMA AND hit at least one of the CoG bands

Best pairs are i assume the Dollar cross Majors?

On the picture above, the thick pink and blue lines are the CoG ABHA. I use them to outline the Supply and Demand area for the length of 250 periods on the 1m TF. The grey areas at the top and bottom of the chart (the fib zone indicator) also agrees with this analysis.

I have never been able to trade without knowing my zones (support and resistance, supply and demand). I feel like an astronaut lost in space with a black screen.

So although the CoG is great at identifying reversal areas, when confirmed with S and R or supply and demand, it gives us more solidity to the justification of the trade. You know exactly why you took the trade. "Why?" "Because price action hit a reversal area." Why did it reverse there? "Because it bounced off the trend line, tried to break a major supply/demand area or support and resistance area. Then it failed and reversed."

Those fundamentals are at the core of PA trading. And repetition of these actions and being able to identify and trade them will give us all the unconscious competence that we are striving for in our traders.

Yes, the MBFX especially has been changed from 1.61803399 to 1.21803399. The TMA is as is.

Exiting....

There are three ways to exit a trade and they are all based on what makes you comfortable. Since I stay in for the whole swing of the move, I do not exit at the middle line of the CoG. It is no longer on my chart.

You can exit:
When your indicator crosses over the 0 or 50 line.
You can exit when your indicator's price line crosses over the MA or
you can exit (usually after a strong move in price) when price crosses over the SSL.



I use these three exiting tactics based on instinct. Like I said, templates are a mere extension of a trader's personality... Choose what you like best.

Today, the Wednesday before NF Payroll is (IMHO) more crazy than NFP. I took a trade early and then waited until the news was over or until my HA candles stopped displaying double wicks, whichever is first.

I took 4 trades today and that is about average. The "noise" of the 1 min chart yielded about 80+ pips.



(This is the eur/jpy. I traded it because it seemed "safer" than the eur/usd and the aud/usd was already trending)

It appears that my second trade broke the usual rules of trading the CoG, however, snaking through my normal cog and tma, I will occasionally use my template that has a stochastic cog. I only have the outlines of the stoch cog on my chart so when price action pierced through it and bounced off the tma it I took the trade.

Wow! The pip-gods were smiling on me today! I was able to make over 60 pips in less than an hour. That is the one good thing about trading the news. The bad thing is if you are going in the wrong direction.....not good.

Here was my trade this morning:

I know the pictures always look good after the fact. But what was actually happening was that price was not ranging very wide. For almost 2 hours, I did not have a trade set up. (It gets like that even on the 1 min TF). The CoG was flat. Trading looked bleak this morning until the news hit and price dropped about 20 pips to the south of the stoch CoG. Then I took entry after the SSL crossed.

Here is my second (and last trade) for the day. The eur/jpy offered a good opportunity after the sudden shot up. With the belief that the market cannot sustain a move like that, so must balance (correct) itself, I took the short. This was a nice move down and yielded more than 40 pips.

XStorm, I have been enjoying your blog and am intrigued by your trading setup. Could you possible give more of an explination as to why you enter the trdaes that you do? What were the indicators doing and what made you take the trade?
