Cool stuff Jason. Cant wait to try out the new mobile apps.

Question for you...how hard is it to to configure your MT4 client to report daily candlesticks as New York close (UTC -4 or 5pm EST) like in the trading station. Is it something that can be looked into?

Thanks.

Hi Jason,

Will marketscope be available for os x in the future? I'd like to trade on my macbook air, but I don't like the web-trader.

Hi fork-forex,

The server time for our MT4 (and all of our platforms) is set to GMT, and there's no option in MT4 to have the candle start time differ from the server time unfortunately. I would recommend using FXCM's Trading Station platform if you would prefer to have the daily candle begin at 5pm ET.

Let me know what you think about the mobile apps after using them.

Hi espen,

I doubt that a separate os x based platform would be developed since the web platform is already compatible with Mac. The alternative would be to use a program like Parallels to run Trading Station desktop on your Mac. What don't you like about the web based platform?

What I don't like about the web-platform is that out of old habit and psychology I like to have the software installed on my computer, so that I'm not depending on browsers etc.

I'll just keep using my Windows desktop I guess, I've also set up remote desktop for my iPad, so it's not an emergency. It's mostly my fianceè who wants to get into trading, and she only has a macbook.

But thank you for your reply.

Jason,
Why not introduce 4-h time period for charts in your web-platform?

Hi Slovforex,

We do have 4-hour charts on Trading Station Web. In the menu bar along the top left, you can click on "Charts", and then select "Create Marketshot". You will then see a pop-up window like the one shown below.

http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/489...2012april1.png

From there you can set the period to 4 hours.

Jason, I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but, How about options and stock trading at FXCM? do you need a special acount for those instruments or can you trade them within the normal acount? Im currently interested to trade Options and a little stocks, I traded a lot of options offline with my bank before and I like to pick that up again. Im also interested if you could tell me the comission on options and stocks, I assume you take commision for those instruments? or maybe not? further I like to know the margin requirement for long calls and puts. would it be the same as for a normal acount?

Thanks

Hi RoughTrader,

You've come to the right place

You will need a separate account to trade stocks and options. The commission for trading stocks online is a flat $9.99 per trade. Click here for our stock trading website. The commissions on options vary by exchange and whether the order is placed online or by phone. I can email you a complete table if you send me a private message with your contact details. Or you can email our stock and options trading department at [email protected] for more details.

Note: FXCM stock and options trading is only available to non-US residents.

Hi Zam,

The last time we released an update for the Trading Station app for Android phones was in December. We're hoping to update the Trading Station Mobile app for Android phones and iPhones to add features like increased customization of charts and complete order control functionality like you have on the Trading Station Desktop. I don’t have a timeframe for you, but it is in the works.

If you have an Android tablet or iPad, you can already take advantage of some of those new features on the Trading Station Tablet app that we launched this month. Were there any features in particular you were hoping we would add in the next update?

What time does the daily bar closed on demo server? Was it GMT 0 or GMT +1?

Hi Slov,

Thanks for following up. We appreciate your suggestions and feedback, but please understand that not all suggestions can be implemented, and if they are the timeframe can be uncertain. Unfortunately at this time, I’m not aware of plans set to add CFDs on softs or agricultural markets to the platform. I’ll let you know if that changes.
