Ok call it "chart analysis" then, I didn't realise it was a game of petty play on words or one-upmanship , I thought we were here to help each other, especially the noobs as you put it.

It seems most here are just interested in making themselves look clever when in fact they are doing the exact opposite.

Price action for me is bar by bar analysis, indis are all calculated using price so understand price action (sorry I meant bar by bar on the tick chart upwards) properly you need nothing else.

Quick question: What else is there other than 'price action' analysis?

No trick question just curious as to what you've researched in the past.

Maybe there are other types of analysis not 'openly' shared...

It seems to mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and it's subjective to say the least. Support, resistance, patterns, and a whole host of other stuff. A trader needs what he needs to have confidence in his system enough to put money on the line and trade. Telling people all they need is price action can be misleading.

Analysing price action is just about the most openly shared strategy out there, it's nothing new, special, or secret. Have you heard of and/or traded support or resistance? A chart pattern? A range? A trend? Retracements? Anything else on a chart of historical data? If so then you have traded price action. It's not a secret sauce recipe, it's just as subjective as anything else out there.

TBH I have said enough for anyone with half a clue to continue on the right path. I just get so sick of hearing from people that think they are cleverer than they actually are, they do themselves a dis-service and can cause real damage to novice traders starting out.

Bar by bar is precision trading if you use tick charts. That is NOT subjective.

Not only subjective but unreliable in an OTC market like forex, variable from brøker to brøker and only indicative of the underlying market.

Hey if it works for you, makes things clearer, and gives you confidence to trade then great but it's not the be all and end all which you make it out to be.

PA to me, is I read how fast the Bid on my chart moves, I guess if I had a tick chart I could possibly see it, but Tick doesn't show the time between moves.

So if market sits at 1.010, drops slowly to 1.003 then jumps back to 1.010 or near / above real quick before repeating then you've got someone buying big chunks at 1.003 so worth getting in Long!!

Ofcourse, the buyer might not have a clue, or playing a longer game or just run outta money and has to stop buying blocks.

Can't see it in history and candles are pretty much randomly formed so no point basing anything on that, which is what most people talking PA are on about.

And yes you'll disagree ofcourse on candles, but really NO there stupid and worthless!!

Correct. That is, until they become relevant and priceless. That "sudden
jump" you speak of simply means a possible period of low liquidity to me, depending on circumstance, of course.

If candles are stupid then so must be bars/line graphs and in deed charts themselves. Should we just call our broker whenever the price suddenly jumps/plunges by 15 pips and tell them to buy/sell based on that fact (I'm not sure if this is a question or an assertion)....???

Not all, low liquity is followed by a big move, sometimes the move is slow and takes many hours, sometimes it's news relates and takes minutes ofcourse.

Candles are easier to see S/R cause compared to a line chart you won't see the low prices getting rejected just the close on a line, so 4times the info of a line chart and all good, it's the BS Chinese ( are the chinese public even allowed to trade ? doubt it ) Doji and all the rest of it, there completely useless but so many on here wait for it to close to get a signal.

Current market conditions, most moves have legs so jumping in on a move in it's direction will likely get you some good returns.
