Hi, it sounds like you should ask your question in the rookie section rather than here. This thread is not for beginner traders - unless you're making an honest attempt at trading the methods discussed here. And, no, detailed instruction in those is not provided.

HL off support 3180, out for +12 when price couldn't push up to RN.

Meanwhile.. Good to see tick charts happening!

I ran an MT4 EA for awhile to produce tick data but it peeved me off eventually having no historical data. I use FXCMs Strategy Trader now as they provide free tick data with a lot of history.
It's a bit clunky - but I like it because I can zoom out so far. If you don't need that they have another platform which is less clunky that provides customisable time frames also.

Thanks for the heads up on FXCM Strategy Tester. I will look into that. Since I'm not really trading levels in the tick data like you are it's not as important to me to have a chart that is built up when I start my day, but it would still be helpful if using MAs rather than waiting for them to sort themselves out.

Woah, Ian, looks like you're feeling pretty aggressive this morning! I like it!

I caught the same move up with almost identical entry but my exit was where you shorted. I wasn't quick enough to go through my cool-down and catch it myself. Shame, was a nice 15-20 in no time at all. Good start to the day for ya, mate.

Wtg, Ian I took the same trade and am consistently taking counter-trend trades this morning (such as the attached). Can't help thinking (yes, I know...) that there is better potential in a retracement of yesterday's move than in a continuation down. May have to wait though...

That wasn't a short, closing out second half of long position. I'm not that awake this morning yet..

Tick flow trading using the RB5 for the setup. Coloured arrows are ones I've taken, white arrows are ones I missed. Two recent shorts in line with the RB5 trend with the first a BE and the second a bit better.

Edit: Broke S1 and held below so looking at maybe 3133. Will *try* to follow the MAs...

Edit 2: Oops, wrote the wrong target. Multi-tasking with FF is hard.

We formed a double bottom while oversold on the RB5, so I took my pips for +19. Will look to reload for a further move down if the market would be so kind.

EY took off but was difficult to catch initially from the tight cloud. So I waited for the bounce off the April 3rd low and took the LH off 75 with a plan to bail quick if we formed a double bottom. Broke down hard and as I'm looking at this with a H4 picture in mind, it could be good for some solid pips.

Possible H4 targets at 107.88 and 107.50. Rather optimistic so something is likely to get me out sooner but if the market insists I will look for those.

I decided to take my pips as seen in the TV33 chart. I'm not as confident with the tick volume on EY and might have to adjust from 33 but it was helpful here for the exit. The initial push into 25 didn't give me an ideal place to exit on the tick chart so I held through the pullback. I figured the way down was just one major leg anyways and we should get at least one more.

Once we pushed down again I decided to take my pips when the quite nice double bottom formed (and a 2B with divergence and oversold on RB5). Might still make targets but already some good ground covered and given time of day I'm happy to be done with it. +54 banked.

Excellent morning for EU and EY traders, and helps make up for a somewhat weak performance yesterday prior to the FOMC bonanza.

Nice one.., I was feeling a bit after missing the EU sell at 3150, but managed to catch the EJ rejection of Y's low, short at 84 out for +23 when we bounced off 55 just above H4 target 107.50 as shown by Auron yesterday.

Edit: Should have hung on a bit longer as we've just hit 50.
