Not quite, thanks for trying. I don't think my idea has been done around here exactly the way I've described.
I think the part, where you want a signal if the current bar closes above or below the previous 32 bars, is straightforward to code and in my opinion, the important part. I don't think identifying the swing low or high is important, as you have not specified how you will use them to trigger a trade.

This doesn't look very promising. Don't be offended too much, but it looks better to do the opposite of what you have described.

That's your opinion, I have my reasons for why I want it the way I've said. No system here and not here to argue about what is better. Use what works for you.

Hi Kas,

I have coded up your original requirements and will post the indicator up later when I have time to put a short "how to" video together.

I have other things to get on with, so I will not be implementing the above request, however, I will post the mq4 file, in case anyone wants to look at that request for you.

Hi Kas,

I have attached the indicator for you to test, along with a brief video running through the input options. One that I forgot to mention is the user input called: blnClearUp - set this to true before you delete the indicator from a chart so that all of the objects are cleared with it.

Let me know if you have any issues with the indicator....

I noticed that it shows 2 high swings in a row sometimes, which it shouldn't. I've shown where it does this in the box on the chart. Can you fix this problem?

Try switching on the signal markers...I noticed that, for example two bearish swings will share the same low. So you would have two signal bar markers, but only one swing marked. Does that make sense?

I noticed it does not show the arrow on the lowest point here, maybe because its a signal bar. Any way to show the arrow and the signal on the same bar since that was the lowest point in the last x amount of closed bars?

Suggestion:

In order to mark the swings a little better, I think it would be a good idea for the indicator to calculate if there is a lower or higher point within the same periods back starting from where the arrow would initially be placed. The x marks the highest point before where the initial arrow is in the picture. The arrow should automatically be drawn where the x is if this condition happens.

@One day!

When I place the indicator on a different chart with the same uparrowspace/downarrowspace settings, it will not draw them the same space away from the candles for every chart. There's no way to make it so the signal dots and swing arrows are in the same place outside of the candles all the time?
I will have a look at those changes early next week and post a revised version once complete.

I also noticed the arrows/signals don't refresh all the time. Sometimes I need to change the time frame for them to appear where they should be. Any way to make them show more consistently? Being able to change the size of the arrows would be good too.

Suggestion:

Adding in support and resistance levels where the arrows are created is another idea. A resistance level would be drawn at the high of the bearish swing arrow and a support level would be drawn at the low of the bullish swing arrow.1 color for support and 1 different color for resistance. The ability to change how many support/resistance levels back it shows would be a good addition as well. The picture shows the supply/demand levels created using 16 periods back.

On further observation this does not look like a good idea.

I also noticed that it will not allow the arrows/signals to be displayed on one time frame only. If I change it to show on specific time frames, it will still show on all. Hopefully you can change that as well.
