Can anyone explain how it is that a trade could close at -25 pips, when there is no stop-loss or take profit set only a 20 point trailing stop?

Jack would probably need more info to answer this.Like account balance, leverage, stop out levels etc.. Just a guess.

Hi, No not margin call, well shouldn't have been. But then the journal is empty except for today, so I can't check it. It was a trade yesterday on a demo account with Pepperstone. Before I give a broker any of my money I test the hell out of the demo. If the demo doesn't work then they don't get my money. I know not every one agrees with this idea. But I'm sorry, EARN MY TRUST.

I do agree with that, and I go a step further and test a new broker out with a very small amount of capital before I commit more. Execution in a live account has to be tested out as well, not just demo.


That aside, if this was a live account you could just ping their support chat... they've been very good at sorting out confusion with their clients and no one has ever come around here claiming to have had issues with live trades like this.

Hi,

Herewith I attached Spread.Watcher.5digit.ex4. In demo server enable both bid and ask line in your chart. Whenever in slow movement when it shows spread value, you just find the difference manually using crosshair. I found what the difference between bid and ask showing on the market watch not same on chart but in live it is correct.

I had to make a call to pepper regarding another matter and congratulated them on stability/performance since moving Razor accts to new server.
Bouquet after the brickbats.

Nice to have charts painting with Razor pricing.

Now Pepper just have to stay ahead of the curve...

www.refundfx.com.au do the same thing. 0.4 pip rebate standard account and 0.1 pip rebate for razor and you can earn rebates on your existing account as well....

yeah I have seen this before with Go Markets. I cannot explain in detail but I know it has something to do with the way they markup the spread. I had an account managed once, and the difference between the chart price and the market watch was the amount that the manager had marked the spread up by.

Every broker can control their spread through chart. Even EA can't trace it. At peak hour or when the price reach to TP or SL, broker can wide the spead and gain from altered spread. BID and ASK are eyewash.

I don't know why there is not a bigger push from the retail market to have access to real ECN / STP pricing. Because if a broker is not a retail market maker; the broker (at least 1 regulated by ASIC) is required to have the appropriate time based tick data results, to show that the bid/ask gap really did widen at whatever point is significant to the questioning trader.

But whatever the case, I believe the size of your problem of small movements in spread, is directly proportional to the length of term of your trading.

Trade longer time frames and your problem is almost completely solved...

"Just enquiring: I noticed that the actual quotes of Razor Account showed typical ECN pricing. However, whilst demo-ing the SAME account (i.e razor account quotes) the chart's candles showed the Standard Account wider quotes. When live, what will my chart's candles show me? Razor or Standard?"

In email previous to this they also stated that they were aware of this problem, and were trying to fix it, as people who simply looked at the charts and not the market watch would not have noticed a difference in the quoting from RAZOR to Standard.
does this broker support deposits and withdrawals via paypal? from what's listed on their site only moneybookers(sucky 3% fee) is supported for deposit while no e-wallet service is available for withdrawals(only TT and credit card).

I have just opened an account and confirm that if you want your money you have to pay 20 aud for bank TT fees. No PayPal

This is of corse rip off, nor will it be a proper bank TT

However the paper thin spreads are fantastic and out weight the withdrawal issue.

Remember to withdraw you have to make profit and that of course is easier said than done

wow sucks to hear tat. 20 aud may seem insignificant for bigger players, but for small time mini players like me who intend to try out a 200usd account size and trade microlots first, the fee in itself is already >10% of my account size which is totally unacceptable...
If you want to first try out a small balance. You can always use credit card as a method of deposit, and they will process withdrawals back to the credit card without additional fees so long as the withdrawal request is within 60 days of the deposit (they just issue a refund on the card from the merchant card processor's perspective.)

This helps smaller account balance traders or people who just want to toss in a few bucks to test them out live.

I agree that the TT/Wire fees are a bit pricey, but it's not Pepperstone so much as their bank that's setting the price (Australian banking in general has always been heavy on the fees and markup)... Pepper just passes the fee along to the client.

Hmm what happens then if i request for withdrawal after 60 days. Can i still withdraw thru my credit card or would TT then be the only remaining option?

according to their website there is a fee on credit card as well. Bank Fees:
The National Australia Bank charge 1.8% for AUD and 3% for all other currencies.
