To bad this new good connection did not improve my trading today.

It was one of those days, when i tell myself i should have been doing something else. lol

2 more weeks + to go in this month. And, i will make it all back + all my hard work, as i usually do...

two weeks and im searching for a new brokerage.. finally I choose Pepperstone “Razor”.. and I heard that they established a new server.. so hows is it ? is there any disconnecting?

How is the liquidity of this broker. they said they don't provide level ii quote for the market. anyone has trade large lots with pepperstone, please provide some insight.

They're STP and ECN depending on which account type you chose to have. So, in any case your order is just re-directed to LP pool and depends on liquidity at the time. Personally ... I've never had any issues with my orders (on average 10 standard lots) but if you're planinng to submit an order in a range of 100s lots, when market has just opened after the week-end or at a time when there is generally low liquidity, then perhaps you should check with Pepperston directly by contacting them. In regards to level-2 price-quotes ... there isn't a such possibility within MT4, however some bokers are providing this through API (but please remember, that's only representing the market depth of this particuar broker and in my opinion it's just an additional gadget not a trading tool)

I don't have any experience in trading large lot sizes with them, and i think the only way to really find out is to slowly increase your volume and see for yourself. I think if you ask them on live chat or email they'll just give you some vague answer like "depends on market liquidity at the time", which of course it does but that doesn't give you any actually numbers. Use something like this, to actually record the slippage and execution speed. Then you can do some stats analysis to see at what order size the execution quality drops off.

They told me that there was no problem increasing this maximum limit if someone requested it. You have to have the full amount of funds in your account first.

Made a 7.8 lot trade so far. the trade had no issues at all.

thanks for replies above. Having another question here, I trade XAU actively and found the spread is pretty big (varied from 30 - 60 pips in london & ny session, 40-50 pip most of the time) compared dukascopy & lmax (remain within the range of 30-40 pips constantly).

I talked to pepperstone, and was told that the order of xau is sent to integral, they do not act as counterparty (i.e market maker). On the other hand, they do not charge commission for trading metals. Isn't that kind of weird? Any thoughts on this?

I could trade the gold futures, but I'd like to keep my account exclusively with them, rather than have multiple account, spreads on major pairs are razor slim, it's just XAU that I'm concerned a lot.

Spot gold is just trading paper... Yes, Pepper's spread on gold isn't the best in the world, I've told this to their support but ultimately they can't change what the LPs will bid/offer on it across Integral's ECN grid. It's one of the "if you want it, we'll provide it, but it's not our focus" type things.

To be fair though, I've seen much worse spread wise. Pepper is competitive, especially compared to big retail US brokers, just not the absolute lowest in the industry.

As for the no-commissions on metals... you're not trading the metal on the futures market (ie, not a market created spread plus commissions type setup.) you're trading a spread quoted by institutions who are creating the paper market based on the value of gold... So it's not quite the same as other fx pairs, and the entity filling your order has to quote a price that includes a mark up over their method of hedging the exposure (by entity, I mean the LPs on the other side of the ECN grid.) Pepper isn't taking the other side of the trade directly when it comes to the price quoted, it is fed from integral, and people who are taking in order flow on the pair across the ECN grid can't see your account.. they only fill orders.

In my opinion (based on my own experience) that's a bad idea to have all your trading funds in one place.
Simply because, no matter how good the broker looks now, it may turn into a very bad ... very quickly,
without you even noticing those changes, if you have no comparison to other services.
