I was laughing as I watched. I have tried to trade like that and lost a boatload as i couldn't move my fingers fast enough to keep up with the market.

I think that is a very dangerous video for all except seasoned news traders - and seasoned news traders don't need that video.

I like the concept even though the application as presented is not practical.

Agreed. That video shows the value of range bars but not how to trade after news releases.

Presumably it is used as bait to get paying clients to the service.

Mate, theres nothing like riding the razorblade slide of forex using your balls as brakes!. Have experienced both sides of the emotion!, I have in recent times become a little more conservative towards it and as was stated a number of posts back that once the initial spike is over she's pretty normal to trade. My problem of late is that charting off MT4 and executing on another platform is that on last fridays news I was a full 15 pips ahead of Mt4 with price and again on monday morning of all times was at 8am ahead by 8 -10 pips for a good 20 mins so if anyone wants to post me the prorealtime code for keltners and tema I know a man that might just stitch them together for me (M). Failing that I might have to open a full MT4 account aswell and watch one trade the other with the satisfaction that I know what price will be doing in the future??. That of course will also then answer the age old question of any difference between live and demo accounts!! on MT4

15 min couldn't close below the pivot forming a hammer. Took the hl off the 38 level on the 5rb chart at 3042. Closed at MR1 for +17.

Nice little trade, Ian. I've been trading some EU myself this morning just taking some small bits here and there, but most of my focus has been on GU since it's swinging like it was yesterday.

Here's the trades so far. First was at FO off some earlier support. The level wasn't too important and I didn't take the trade initially on bar close but after watching a bit longer and seeing things getting bought after a slight retrace and joined in. Got out after 75 failed on the second attempt.

Then later tried a little continuation long which I probably should have cut earlier. I ended up losing a few with spread after the second hammer started to fail.

Couldn't resist this long after a false break of the lows after seeing so many of these on GU lately. We saw a lot of tick volume come in on the initial push down so I just waited for the right moment and this minimal push lower was it. Still hanging on until the RBs tell me to get out.

I also really liked how this one was a HL that lined up nicely with the trendline. Did you use that in your analysis? I don't use trendlines often on my RB charts as I find them far more useful on time-based charts, but in this case the M5 trendline looked almost identical so it would make sense to use it. As you can see the potential entry bar (green arrow) didn't print nearly as well on my charts as it did yours due to the smaller wick but still a solid little trade that I would have liked to have joined you in taking.

I had been thinking wether I should share my crappy scalps. Since you are asking, here they are

I have to admit that I had completely forgotten about the 9:30 FH turn because I was too busy placing trades - had I thought about that, maybe I would have had more confidence to ride that trade out like Ian did. Instead I placed two scalps on the way up (350 to 425 and from 520 to 590 for a total of 14.5 pips).

Thanks for mentioning the swings in GU. I should have been trading GU, that looks easier to me today as I like range trading.

By the way, I like the range bar 5 pip chart. I replaced the 5-min chart by this.

By mid-FH turn, I mean the 7:30GMT one. Frankfurt gets going an hour before London at 7:00GMT and it's pretty common to see the early move get turned right around the half hour mark. So today our trending move from 6:00 got stopped dead in its tracks right at 7:30. Ian's trade, around 8:30, is also a pretty common time to see a turn.

As for the scalps, nicely done! Unfortunately it's a bit hard to see exactly what's going on in the screenshot (probably because MT4 does a poor job taking them when you try to save the whole Active Workspace) but looks quite solid.

Edit: Oh, and don't worry about sharing your "crappy scalps". I'm far from a good scalper myself but I find them quite interesting. And if you're planning on testing out and possibly incorporating RBs into your analysis as well then all the better for them to be posted in this thread.
