Had they looked after existing clients, by refusing to increase their client base when their server capacity had been reached, they may have turned many new clients away. On the other had I wonder how many existing clients they have lost over the past few months.
I am also assuming here that many of the new clients came from GoMarkets, who have now suffered the exact same problems with Pepperstone. They would be all too familiar with the promised trading fixes made about hardware upgrades being protracted and may already be looking elsewhere.
