Since markets are ranging right now using the 4H CTR has been very successful. I have not been posting much in trades because of time restraints but i will try to get some up this weekend.

If you look at your daily charts you will see most currencies are ranging right now. The key will be what Greece will do and then that will set the tone for the market.

To be honest I think the market has pretty much already factored in the Greece situation. If the proposal is agreed then you may see some market rises but not allot as everyone knows Greece cant afford to make repayments in the future, also their are government elections in April, so the current government will get kicked out and the new one will default on the current agreements. Germany and France are mad to bail them out. You dont keep lending to a person or country if you know full well that they cant afford to borrow it. If the proposal is not agreed then Greece will have to leave the Euro, probably followed by Spain, Portugal, Ireland etc.

However, should be able to make a few pips here and there along the way.

Good to see you around. Hope life is treating you well. My trading has been quiet since the euro drop has finished. See what happens next. I agree the Greece thing is factored in so next is .................. I hope people in the USA are watching this because if we keep borrowing we will be in the same boat in the future.

Gosh, I´m Spanish, if we have to leave Euro it would be a national disaster. We are asphyxiated with higher taxes executed by our new government...I remember what happened in Argentina: "Corralito" around ten years ago and here it would be more harmful yet.

Do you imagine all our debts in Euros and we coin again our last currency? Much lower value of course.

It is an interesting problem which we in the USA will face if we dont get ahold of this deficit spending. Adam Smith in his book on economics written in the the 1700's wrote that one of the biggest problems of govt. was the paying off of its debts. So this is an age old problem of mankind. I wish you guys well, we certainly dont need countries going unstable over these things. The alternative is something none of us want to face. I truly hope the Euro survives and flourishes in the future. I simply dont think I want the alternative to happen.

I do feel very sorry for the Greek people.

They were lied too. Their government at the time used external accounting firms to so call, cook the books, so they basically met all the entry criteria for the Euro.

I mean no offence by this but Greece cannot pay this level of debt back. The interest rate (although low) will cripple them for many years to come, let alone the actual amount they original borrowed.

I dont condone what the rioters are doing on the streets but there does come a point when you ask yourself, maybe they have had enough.

Children now and born tomorrow will be repaying this debt long after they have reached old age and probably died.

Two wrongs dont make a right but if I were Spain, Portugal, Ireland and Italy then I would just default on their loans and go back to their original currencies and de-value.

Sounds harsh, i know. But you cant expect the majority to get the minority out of jail because they were reckless and basically lied to the ECB at the time.

Yes, I was a commercial trader who took risks with other peoples money. Not proud of it but the difference is, there was other peoples money to gamble with, it actually existed. Unlike what some Greek government officials did while trying to gain entry to the EURO. They should be in prison at the very least.

My hope is that Greece, somehow, turns this around. But, I dont/cant see how they ever can.

For the rest, my suggestion is to create a "southern euro" for Italy, Spain, Cyprus and Ireland (and maybe greece if they can make it). This would trade about at 1.0 to USD, and the Northern Euro, otherwise known as the NeueReichsmark , would trade at 1.7 to USD.

There's already a great name for the southern euro: denarius, the primary coin of the Roman Republic.

Which way does France go in that event? Rich, but Germany's bitch?

Anyway, this is OT for this thread, except for trading.

If Italy/Spain leaves, I'd expect a massive bumrush out of the Euro for a couple of months, and then a monster rally over 2 years when people realize it's a deutschemark. Load up on German corporate bonds when EUR:USD hits 1.10 and yield spreads explode.

I will ask one final question...

What, actually has the single (Euro) currency brought to the countries involved ?

I maybe wrong but the original idea was to compete with USA and JPY back then.

How times have changed. They should be more worried about China, India etc now.

Unfortunately, they decided to change the main logic behind Metatrader 4's programming language, without notifying any of the developers'................so be careful of any update especially 416 to 418..it just might cause you ea's and indicators to not work any more.
