Thanks for your input. My counting of AUD/USD and USD/CAD leads me to believe that the USD with respect to these pairs will put in a swing bottom by March-April.

Yeap, i do have a temporary top coming in about 2-3 weeks for audusd (shown on the chart), but the overall trend remains bullish. Not sure about loonie though.

I agree with us moving to a b-wave high. I think it's premature to call it b of an x-wave triangle but if you're confident in it with employing methods as well then that's okay I guess. Here's what I'm seeing shorter term.

I have the same projection short term (but with neowave labeling ).
It's not very common to see running abc in X-wave. it's a strong indication of a trend that is picking up the steam. so, another possibility would be irregular flat in X. But this pattern is also very rare in X-wave and appears only when market "doesn't know where to go". therefore, i anticipate a triangle. but it doesn't have to be contracting triangle.

Something irritates me in a lot of counts here in this thread recently:


counting of triangles seems to be utmost popular. Nothing against triangles, but why count a triangle, when only wave A or waves A and B are visible? Why is it popular to go with a count (triangle) which has a lesser chance to develop than to simply first go with an ABC and watch for development? Why make things more complicate than they are? Inquiring minds want to know......

Just my opinion. 2-3 decades ago the dominant patterns were zz (3 leg), flat (3 leg), impulse (5 leg) and contracting triangle (5 leg). These days with everyone being able to trade, with introduction of computerized automatic trading, price movements become more complex. One would expect the increase of the mean complexity of the patterns. Moreover, there're 12 types of triangles known according to neowave. So, it's not a surprise that triangle (5 legs) is the most popular pattern in my charts. Of course, the triangle is just one way of representing the market's mood and its intentions. There're trending (moving with trend), horizontal (moving sideways) and running (counter-trend but drifting with the trend) triangles. Some of them indeed may be replaced with more simple patterns! But the post-effects might be different.

Count what you see, count what is most probable. Counting EW (regardles if Neowave or Elliott wave) is all about probability.

If we start counting in this way, I can deliver dozens of counts out of every movement. Does that make sense? Would that be tradeable?
