i'm looking at the high vol down bar on the EU 5m in the last 30 mins. the next two bars, are lower volumes and lower spreads. it got as low as 3237, which incidentally, is the high from the morning. we are obviously in a mid term uptrend, which reinforces my bullish view.

Not saying long from there isn't a good trade but for those new to VSA following the thread need to understand more why you choose to buy at that level.

I know which bar you are talking about and the next two bars while both downbars are lower volume yes, with the second one making a lower low but unable to close below the 5min volume bar and based on volume it is a NS of sorts so some SOS at the low of that bar since we see no SM interest in further downside.

Myself I am short at 3245 with my SL at 3260 based on two 2BR's now into 50% of both that 5min bar as well as the 15min highest volume zone... looking for the low of the 15min zone for 1:1 first at 3230 and then will trail down depending on reactions at that level.

Wow was I wrong ... stopped out on that trade. That' what I get for taking a new trade after my cut-off time today. I told myself because we had no US backing that I would stop taking new trades at 11AM my time which was 50mins ago.

Ah well that's what I get for not following my own rules. Now flat and done until tommorow. I hope you get your 3300 UT but I am still not sure if we will see a new days high today (however I was just wrong so who knows )...

Fair enough. I'm not sure whether we will get above 3280 either.

thanks probo for the hint.
For your information, I'm taking long myself.

I know VSA is not born to be complicated. Anyone can be trading VSA. That's why there's always new name here as you said earlier. I oneself doubt any newbie or veteran in this thread has applied VSA profitably. But it's for oneself to decide. You can practice anything you want, fail or with reward. The most important thing is to have fun in one trading, know what's best working for oneself. Thanks for advising VSA is not to be traded naked. I do that either. But you should expect many traders looking at some methods. You may find many members curse MACD or other lagging indicator. But actually, there's nothing wrong or right. They'll abandon it eventually if it's not working. (2 years of failure and keep persistent, then you can call them idiot) For now, let's just enjoy the party with us newbie trader in VSA playground

Well then you would be quite wrong.

This isn't a party or a game, it's a business and if your not profitable using VSA this attitude towards trading is the biggest reason.

I have selected my word on purpose.
VSA method is not owned, same as MA crossover.
Why bother when one's method being criticized?
It's no secret none like to be wronged.
The debate will go on and on among pro VSA and other side.
It's everyone business, miserably or rewardly played.
I said it's for oneself to decide.

Yes must be since my post was so full of name calling, well done...

I made two statements, that was all.

It tires me that people feel the need to come to a VSA thread (or any thread) and complain that it does not work. Just because it does not work for one trader or they choose to treat this business as a game they waste everyones time with garbage posts. The suject of this thread is very clear, if you don't use, or want to learn VSA than find another thread that better suits you.

This is why the thread has become a waste of time no matter how much people try and give it new life. Most of the people who once came here to share VSA no longer call this thread home as you can only waste so much time trying to explain or justify your trading methods to those who do not take it seriously.

I'm with ya here... this is perhaps why the VSA Forum is gaining traction- I understand your frustration. When people say it is easy, it means they are really not grasping that this is truly an art form and like all art it takes an open mind and time to appreciate the depth of learning involved. I appreciate your efforts, and Im only poking fun at ya.

Are you talking about Steve and Liam's forum? Are you a member there? I know that you started a Wyckoff chat room, how is that going?

Yes I much prefer the other VSA forum as it is 60+ members (not all participate) but they are all there because they like and want to learn VSA. You don't have to worry about all the jokers stopping in just to tell you that VSA sucks and how there's no volume in Forex...

I have tried but I just can't let go of Malc's thread all together as it is where I started my VSA journey and I keep hoping it will regain some life and some new traders will come here to learn as I once did...

Yes indeed I am a non contributing member of liam's and Steve's Forum- shame on me and I should really change that as I have taken some great trades recently- by Wyckoff terms!

The Wyckoff room has become like all chatrooms- just missing the intended mark somewhat. I also cant let go of Malc's thread for it it what gave me wings also, although in a slightly different direction. VSA is still the core, and I need to learn more hence me lurking also.

Perhaps like the market as it ebbs and flows so will this forum- I hope so anyhow! Im hanging out for some new life and new ideas. Trading ideas should be evolving if they are to grow with you and the market.

Well Wyckoff gave birth to VSA so feel free to share your trades as I have always had an interest in expanding my trading knowing to include Wyckoff but have never had the time... so seeing some charts and explanations will help. I am sure Steve and Liam would even allow the creation of a Wyckoff thread so you can throw out some educaiton on the matter to help everyone understand more when you post up a chart in one of the trading forums...

There are a few other traders that are members that also use Wyckoff, I have seen some charts marked up with the rivers and ice references...

Hi Sonofsin!
The methodology comes from Wyckoff. It is much of what "little" guys like Livermore used to trade as well, in the 1920's....
Then, Tom Williams put it all together in an orderly fashion with indicators and, of course, automated it with the TradeGuider software. VSA is born! :-)
Then comes Gavin, that is the CEO of TradeGuider and a VSA expert/practitioner.

I think that is the thing in my simple understanding.

Cheers!
