Reminds me of some of my friends in NZ who like to collect houses. Some people don't mind being mortgaged/leveraged up to their eyeballs. Not a position I like to put myself in. At least in trading you can just close that position. Trying to flick a house when the times get tough is a little harder.
I see you were nicely leveraged on that trade though. Well done.

I refer to it as true leverage but maybe I should call it the leverage that kills most new punters. The position size/account size leverage e.g. if you open one standard lot on a $10,000 account you are leveraged at 10:1. I read that Lehman Brothers were leveraged around the 33% mark and look what happened to them.

Well I can't ever see myself using any real sort of leverage on anyone else's money in my whole life. And a lot of hedge funds use like 30% running equity most of the year to produce their 10-20% annual ROI. To me that's not trading, on our level anyway, but remember they make huge money off volume alone and a big hint is in their name.. 'hedge' funds! I way prefer to risk 0.5% at a time, take the highest accuracy trades, and let the money come steadily and in bigger numbers
Inadvertently leaving space to have less of my own money at the tableUsing Lehman as an example, I couldn't care less about how sure a bank or hedge fund is about a move coming up, no one's cleverer than the markets. Unfortunately capitalism is literally all based on credit i.e. leverage, don't you think :'(

Can't believe those indices. They're still trying to pump them. I have no idea who's got the cojones to buy at these levels. Must be time for a downdraft veeeeeeeeeeery soon. Famous last words.
