This remind what my friend said few years ago. The only thing that he like about gold and silver is because no need to look at company balance sheet or company bankruptcy.

I marked off the levels in this by supply demand strategy of sam saiden. Here is the winner.

Odd enchancers=
Trend= down
How Price left the level= Fast
Revist= 1st
Profit margin= 1:3

Therefore it worked out.

Yes, but we're now talking about mergers and acquisitions and or hostile takeovers and / or flat out buying companies, not clicking buy and sell on a futures or fx trade station.

I understand what he is saying, yet, there is always a flipside to the coin.

(Unless -he probably has one- a two headed coin)

Betting big on a US multinational company to me is quite different than holding physical Gold.

Only until the last couple years, say 8 - has gold slowly emergerd from the shroud of being used solely as a hedge against inflation, wealth preservation, and a viable / profitable trade and day trade. Look at the price action from say 1990 to 2000. See chart below if I can find one.

Look I am certainly no W. Buffet or I wouldn't be exchanging ideas on FF, I would be sipping on champagne at a comfortable cruising attitude surrounded by beautiful women looking for the next company I wan't to buy. I do find it hard to believe he has not profited from gold and I'M SURE if MR. B is so unhapppy with his physical holdings there are plenty willing to take it off his hands.

This is the best I could do to show progression.

Some crucial levels 26 (reaction low) could flip gold back down,
there are sellers that brought it further down from there.
If going above 34 and staying there we are in another range (to top high)

For now and until level 26, there should be only buying, after seeing a higher reaction low... But anyways since this is a Friday, you never know what Monday gives ya.

Here is some TA from an my buddy from another forum,
He is an experienced Gold / Silver / etc. Futures trader.

This is his interpretation of the triangle.

According to his view which is possible we could see another more real retest of the broken DTL which would only bring us back to 1650 break point before
going up up and away.

I'll see if I can pull another one off also.

eye on the trends.
silvers single year primary trendguide or pivot is 34.50 and has been showing resistance as we went into 4th quarter and onto looking for 2012 support.
as we keep in mind once broken north in 2011 34.50-64 area was last years support on towards 2011 highs.
2012 spells bear below 34.50 resistance so hold on to your shorts from this week till proven wrong. those rewarding selves with partials from this years 27.00 area entrys, cheers.
a break below weekly lows and feb. monthly trendguide 31.65-70 area spells bears.
On a smaller timeframe the weekly, 33.16 is this weeks trendguide, 34.70-90 is weekly highs, 36.20 area is feb. highs

this week gold did not make it to this weeks projected highs or even above last weeks highs 1754-59 area.
thur rotation back from thur. daily highs continued south from fri. pivot 1733 to fri. lows area however on the higher weekly timeframe chart we are above this weeks trendguide 1710.

These are my reasons to believe in a bear market right now.

1. Since september, bearish waves are faster than bulllish waves. It is said that speed belongs to impulsive waves, and these are the ones that prints new highs or lows. duh! lol

2. Since September we have lower highs and lower lows.

3. There is a bearish hidden RSI and MCD divergence in daily charts, wich could mean only a retracement and not a reversal.

4. RSI in Monthly chart shows a bearish failure swing.

I'll quote the meaning of that:

5. In Weekly charts there seems to be a descending channel from sep' High to recent high. Drawing a parallel line starting from recent low and going backwards price has reacted 3 times just at it, another time was very close and, there are two obviuos breaks. last week of september and first week of october. However price of first break closed fairly near the line, almost there, and in the second break proce closed above that line.

Hi all Gold trader,

Care to share with me what indicators or time frame do you use to trade for gold. Can the same indicator use for FX be applied ? And also the timing of Gold, when is the best timing, or similar to FX too.

Id like to see your view on silver as I believe the bear market starts at the 34.50 area.
as far as gold goes I have to differ with ya .
my line is drawn @ 1597-1600 area with bulls above and bears below. (right about where hawkeye lines cross on picture above)
thats a 10-4 on sept. rotation back from 2011 highs to retest 2011 yearly breakout @1551 area in dec.
however the push up in jan from 1551 area on thru 1600 along with looking at the last quarter and even the last 3 quarters its bulls from there the 1629-32 area.
as we go as far as an intermediate trend the monthly of feb. the bulls are out from 1680-87 area.
thats a 10-4 on the weekly trend line and the last 2 weeks highs 1754-59 resistance and rotation back on the daily and will take it a day at a time.
Just as golds 2011 breakout was 1551, silver 2011 was 34.64 area which lines up with 2012 single year trendguide 34.51 which to me spells bear below.
Again , although I differ with gold Id like to read your angle on silver as I assume you would view that as bearish.

Your rejection point on gold is technically wrong.
Try drawing the line from the swing high of 1920 and see that the price has broken it.

I actually am quite bearish on silver this week reguardless of greek outcome i still see silver falling from a technical viewpoint i know its against recent trend

I am no expert at forex but i can't ignore the possible chance of downturn on the weekly which will make me cautious to buy might just sit on the sidelines this week
