Hi: Just downloaded and used. Works well. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to install but the pdf was a big help. Very handy for a learning playback machine. Thanks.

There are a number of problems with the simulator. The biggest one for me is that it doesn't teach patience. I can sit in front of my simulator and multiply my account 3-5 times a month but since i get a new bar every 10 seconds it's not testing the patience.

It is meant to test your strategy and not your patience.

This simulator took five minutes to set up and place my first trade (winner). I wish I would have found this before paying for ForexTester and not being able to use my indicators I trade with. Many Thanks Quantum, I would have payed for this sim easily.

Hi all!! First thanks you quantem.. very very good simulator..

I have just a problem. How i can set up the spreads? If i buy for ex eur/usd at 1.3500, the simulator put my order at 1.3505 ..is too much. 2 or 3 pips spreads on e/u ok, but 5..

Can you help me?! thanks.

I agree, the simulator is great but I cant use the ordering because it always has a 3.5 pip spread on E/U. I have to log the trades manually on paper to mirror real market conditions. Nobody has a 3.5 pip spread on E/U these days. You can get spreads of 1 pip or less, How can I change the spread on the simulator to reflect more accurately todays brokers?

I guess the only solutions is to use "Control Points" on your simulation...

Here is a great tool to help you get experince faster, by trading on a simulated market. You can enter and exit trades like you would in a real market, so it gives you a more realistic feeling.

You can speed it up, and slow it down as well. I have been able to practice trade a month in about 1 hour using this tool.

The system runs in MetaTrader 4

When learning to trade, there's no substitute for experience. A trader who has spent many months trading a live market will have a feel for the market that is almost impossible to explain.

Firstly- many thanks to Quantem for a great tool. It is highly appreciated.

could someone show how to make the clock (on the lower right corner) run along with the bar. For example working on 4hr chart instead of current situation of going in jumps 4:00, 8:00, 12:00 etc i want the time to advance together with the bar so i can relate to any specific time within the bar.

Antodedo and Torkay- i had these both problems- solved by upgrading my MT4 to latest build and reinstalling the simulator

Hi All,

Help please. I can't get this to run. It always says 'waiting for update' and no chart on the screen. I used to have this problem before and solved by:

- download historical data
- click on the 'pause' button

Not sure why these tricks don't work anymore. It's been a while since i used the simulator last time so many i did something else as well. just don't remember.

I've checked the thread and couldn't find any answer. Please give me a hand and thanks very much in advance!

I think you do not enough history data. Check it out at your "history" folder

Hi kalolu,

Thanks for your reply. You're right, not having enough historical data will cause problem but it's the the cause in my case. I've downloaded historical data to my pc.

After playing around I found that setting 'max bars in history' & 'max bars in charts' (tools/options/charts) to maximum value solved the problem.

Hope this information can help others as well.

Like M.A.C.Doug (post#88), I'd also like to know if there is a way to change the pip spread for more accuracy while running the simulator. If it uses existing pip spread that doesn't help during weekend wider spreads. Great tool otherwise.
