Please how many pips buy & sell stop & limit pending order is good to set before major economic news release?

Judging by the unhappy avatar you posted you were squashed during a news release.

Well most experienced traders have experienced this phenomenon and there are a number of factors to take into consideration. If the price is moving quickly it is unlikely you'll get a fill at your market order level. This is like when you bid in an auction and the price moves so fast the auctioneer just ignores you. Next thing you know you're paying more than you wanted.

Trading the news is for skilled hardened gamblers who have fast internet connections and reliable feeds and brokers who are more likely to give a good price. That's my opinion. I have tried it myself. I did the whole thing, including a subscription to tradethenews.com to get up to the second information. It was exciting but I lost money. It's better to wait until after the news has sunk in, say an hour or two, and then trade - especially if it's a continuation of the original trend.

There are many posts on this subject and I don't think any experienced traders recommend trading the news until an hour or so after. Here is one the better ones to understand the situation you are putting yourself into. Posts #6 and 7 are particularly useful.

The only reason I track exact timings of important economic releases (such as 1st non-farm payroll, empire state manufacturing, i/r change announcements of carry trade pairs such as AUD/ NZD) is to avoid trading near these timings.

Be it a trade just before the announcement or during.
You may get lucky and make some money. But remember you are competing with many sharks with algos & servers right at the heart of exchanges.

Watching your stop-loss being skipped is no joke.. or when you are not sure if your order was executed during platform lags on releases.

its best to either not even look at the news - and trade technically - many do... or use techs + your analysis on the sentiment and analyze what outcomes will do to price.

trapping news is old school and is outdated. price usually spikes before going the directions its "supposed" to go.

the way i see it you find your self not knowing what to do in a certain situation, and to tell you honestly I can safey say it is due to lack or learning and reading (don't get me wrong) to be able to judge the fundamental aspect of the market needs lots of knowledge, only then you can tell if its a rumor or a fact, and given enough time and exp you will be able to that and even ues both fundamentals and technicalities in doing your trades, take your time and don't rush, but instead try learning more and all the best

Not a good idea. Many have tried to do this before you and the brokers just widen the spreads to cover themselves.
