Just to further clarify what apple_sauce and HiddenGap mentioned. Here's an example of a failed test on the 15min, whilst I was waiting for a ND on the 5min.

Question to all reading, anyone that would've traded the failed test?

Edit - I don't know why FF messes up my attachments, i swear they're high quality when I upload them!

Im currently short EU. If we break the low of this channel, it is likely that we will see a retest of 1.2700 - 1.2800. If you look on the daily you will notice that we have a selling climax, however we have not seen an accumulation yet. V bottoms don't happen very often. 1.2700 is a very nice area of confluence, with a level of support, a round number, and it is the top of the down channel.

yes kinsale i see in 15min it was a failed test it closed lower or rather it was a down bar,
normally i watch 1h for stopping volume e.g in a downtrend then wait for a next bar to close higher still in 1h then go to 5min to look for a ns to go long hows that kind of entry?pls feel free to tell me /us the kind of setups u look for

i like the way uve named almost every candle what av?just wondering do u do all ur analysis and entry in 1h without going down to 5min chart?

agree. nice upthrust on the PMI data to tempt in longs. didnt take long to move down to 1.2950 area.

I only label 1h charts. It would be too much work to label 96 15min bars x 5 charts. AV stands for absorption volume because we saw price break through a strong level of support on increased vol and spread. This is bearish, however it is still unconfirmed.
If you missed the short you might get an ideal entry if we get an UT or ND into 1.2990.

This is in hindsight now but is always good for study and to memorize the patterns.
Was a short in the euro that I think most of VSA'ers took, if they were in front the PC.

#3 is one of my favorites. It's a Key Reversal Bar (KRB). Most of the example I have shown have been the opposite for some reason. So just thought I would point this one out.

We open higher than the previous interval, make a higher high (better if its higher than the previous 2 intervals), close lower than the previous close and lower than the interval's own open.

Couple that with some High to Ultra High volume and you have one of those situtuations where shorting simply on an Up Thrust can be okay.

#5 is a beautiful tell. We have volume less than the previous two intervals on an up candle. This "up move" is back into the area of our high volume Up Thrust. Low volume where there was once high volume is always an important sign. But what else do we see? From a non VSA perspective we see a Doji. The open equals the close, and in this case, they are roughly in the middle of this interval's narrow range. Dojis = indecision. No Demand = lack of iterest in higher prices by the BBs. We don't know how far, but prices are much more likely to fall than rise at this point.

Maybe your chart attachments were too high quality.

Last time I have problem with too high resolution.

Either the img was too big or the file size was too big. FF changes them too JPG as default in these cases. Make sure your PNG file size is less than 976 kb and the IMG size is less than 1500 x 1500 pixels. That should do the trick.

Hi VSAers

I've been enjoying reading this thread. I have a question about what to do when a No Supply appears on the bar that I entered short on. The chart below was early Frankfurt session.

I considered there was weakenss in the background as there was No Buying Pressure (NBP) followed by 2 Squats on Higher Volume. PA fell a bit then moved back up again on NBP and then gave a No Demand bar at the Squat lows. I went short on the break but my entry bar turned into a No Supply. I waited to see of the following candle made a new low but it didn't and when it started going back up I exited the trade. Maybe I didn't wait long enough as that bar turned into a No Demand and PA fell again.

I'm just wondering what people do when they get a situation like this where there is an immediate No Supply after entry (there was Stopping Volume on the previous low). Was my exit too early and should I have waited for the next candle to confirm what it is? I probably should have considered the bar at least had a decent spread. If the bar became a No Selling Pressure I would have let the trade breath. [Edit: just realised it's impossible for it to become a NSP bar as the last 3 candles were all falling volumes].

spotting accumulation or distribution in 1h is where a winning trade set up starts its easy to spot the nd or ns in the 5min chart am i right experts?

Wow very well done. Recognition and execution are pretty spot on. As Pres has just recently posted, you have to trust your own abilities. That does take some time but it does come.

Everything in trading is a choice and no one choice is best in all situations. Since you have the MA on your chart, you could choose to use it. As long as price is closing below the MA and the MA is red, stay short. This method would have kept you in the trade until second to last candle shown on the chart.

Another method is the method mentioned by Tom himself. You could choose to "allow" for 2 consecutive up bars when short before exiting. So in this case, the No Demand prints but is not followed by another up bar. Therefore, you would do nothing (stay in the trade). Notice that there are two more times when a single UP interval prints. Neither of these get you out since there is only 1 and not 2 Up intervals. As it happens, this method takes you out on the same interval as the MA method.

Basically, you want to find a stop method that suits your personality and stick with it. One of the hardest ones is to simply "read" the market whilst in it. Many intervals look stronger (when you are short) than they really are and vice versa.
