It seems to me that more recently you don't trade many 'counter trend' setups - if so are there any reason for it - Thanks.

No real reason in particular...I suppose with the lack of volume and holidays and end of the year around I just have been staying away from the counter trend stuff without really thinking about it...

hmmm not a pretty good week so far with all the choppiness going on...just waiting to see about catching some kind of break out back into a trend if and when the opportunity presents itself...

in case you are interested - follow my progress!!

I coded my own version of the MasterALERT (many ideas and parts of code from M_j). ... but a different approach - closer to what you use.
- no M_j open bar value indicator but standard calculation. - No Bar Shifts as he did - can use any TF: also lower TF than the chart period.

Some key points:

-12 MA to select from (can operate on both: active bars or closed bars similar to what you do)
-Time section with 4 Time Periods to select from: to limit alerts to a specified time period of a day.
-30 STO %K to select from (can operate on both: active bars or closed bars similar to what you do)
-6 STO %K and %D to select from (can operate on both: active bars or closed bars similar to what you do) e.g. %K/%D cross similar your Rope Window 2 Sexy Stochatic with %D line
- Pivot Point Zone Alert
- Average Price Range Direction (similar to M_j DPP indicator)
- expanded the Alert option to a Global Variable Alert - which can be used to save to file multiple related charts at the time of an Alert (need my own screenshot indicator)

total of 24 SubALERTs

I start to test each section very soon for correct functionality(no upload). Check out Ati's Test Place thread.

hmm just taking a look at the charts for the beginning of the week next week and getting a heads up of what to possibly expect...here are harmonic patterns I noticed on a few different pairs...

This week was one of those weeks with no entries really...this month has not turned out so great so far...still in the positive for the month but just not pushing the return percentage that I would like for the month...and the month is coming to a close next week so I suppose I will just have to see how that goes as well as the rest of the year...this month so far has proven somewhat interesting as the good entries were on the higher time frames where it would be most profitable to hold onto the trade until stochastics show the trend exhausting itself with the possibility of a reversal...giving the sign to jump ship with profits or lock in a bit more profits and such...when I say higher time frames I just mean from 15 up to 1 hour but mostly 30 and 1 hour...but anyway...guess I will see where next week takes me...as it seems like the trends across the majors may be wanting to reverse...of course I can't read the future so I don't know for sure and can only go based off what I see on the charts but thats what I'm seeing for now...and will just follow the rules of my methods and do all I can do in an effort to extract profits from the market...

sigh...I still love making money and not taking for granted anything but for whatever reason I have been finding myself quite bored with trading lately...sigh... I guess thats normal as I have read others speaking of how lonely and boring it can be to be a trader...but maybe I'm just stuck in my own routine now or something...I'm not quite sure...but everything just happens over and over again...lol...the same recurring patterns and set ups and such...hmm I forgot to mention I took a buy today on the gbp usd...and got stopped out...my first stop out for the month...but those happen from time to time...cant avoid it...

I know you personally so I feel I can speak what I want and you know it's me speaking to you as a friend. After reading what you wrote, I understand completely because we have spoke about this before but I must be honest with you and say it's the most ridiculous thing I think I have ever heard when it comes to trading.

I actually read your comments at least 10 times because I could just not believe it. You have reached the top of the trading ladder. I'm not saying that you are the richest in the business but what I'm saying is you have mastered the craft. That's why you are bored with it now. Truthfully speaking though, that's how it is supposed to be. Think back to when we spoke when you were just getting started really. We spoke about getting to the point where we traded with no emotions and were just going through the motions. Remember when I would always wash, rinse, repeat? That's what you are doing right now.

So I can understand how it can get boring for you but think about people like me. Do you know that I'm still unemployed, still hurting for money, still trying to make my dreams become a reality. I'm still trying to hold onto my dream while at the same time wondering if my dream is getting in the way of my life since I can't seem to grab it. Think about the people like me and what we would do to get to the point where you are at in your trading.

So before you continue to think the way you do, realize that you are where everybody is trying to get if they are not already there.

I'm going to send you a PM to continue to talk with you because I don't want to say everything here but I felt what I just said was something that others may think but since I know you personally I felt it was okay for me to say it as a friend of yours.

Sorry for taking up space in your thread to say my piece but I felt it was something that had to be said.

Just to spice things up a little bit...I'm going to start taking trades off of support/resistance levels that I will be drawing out myself with my stochastics...its almost guaranteed profits...with stochastics and whatever one chooses to use for support/resistance whether it be moving averages, trend lines, horizontal lines, pivots or whatever...but I'm finding I really prefer to use pivots as they are intended where I like to see what the stochastics look like at the actual pivot level and I will not trade into the actual pivot...and than just see what stochastics tell me as far as taking profits or whatever at the pivot extensions...blah blah blah...its nothing new and there is a reason this stuff has been around for as long as they have....

A few other members posted charts on here in efforts to grasp the system... And posted charts with some incorrect entries....use those to help see what you don't want to take and compare it with the valid entries I posted and read my input to those charts...
