Trading Station with Multiple-Monitors

Year 2012 and new technology released day by day. Let's get another upgrade of our multi-head trading terminal. My strategy is to get it from local computer store around here that start to sell last year high-end graphic card at huge discounted price.

The number of monitors used depends upon trading system - everyone is different.

I just thought I'd throw this in as doesn't seem to have been mentioned. There is a company that produces an adaptor so you can add up to 3 screens to your laptop or pc:

It's called TripleHead2Go and costs around £230 ($300).

I've used it for years, really cool and no need for expensive setups - only 3 x monitors!

Intel core i3 840 3.07 3.06 ghz
2 gb ddr 3 ram
windows 7 ultimate sp1

so which hardware is suitable for me to add extra monitor/s?

I am from India & very few people knows about how to add extra monitors to one cpu & which hardware to use for that

so please help

I dont have any graphic card i am thinking about adding if multiple monitor works i want to see multiple charts not same one which works on my main pc.

i talk to lots of guys but none of them anything about that or have little information

to connect multiple PC either you need a a motherboard which supports that can connect two Screen or a graphic card....where in india are you from...

look for CrossfireX compatable video cards - you can run about 4 from one pc

or the cheapest option is to simply buy cable spliters for monitor cables - one standard video card will then run 4 monitors.

so many options nowdays

I tried buddy but they really dont know nothing about it or fearful if anything goes wrong they have to bear a cost & if i buy from them they have to provide me support

what all equipment you have currently...specfically a motherboard which one you have...

You might find that your Intel built-in graphics already supports 2 monitors. Just connect one on the DVI link and one on the HDMI link. Intel's website suggests it does.

If not you need a graphics card that has multiple outputs like the ATI Radeons and you'll definitely need this
if you want 3 or more monitors.

Your motherboard must supply enough power to run the card.

Also you need to connect the monitors over a digital link DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort

The ATI link above talks you through what you need

Looking at the NVIDIA GeForce cards even there low end cards support 2 monitors but if you want 3 or more monitors you should check.
Thanks indianguyinny and jzw for all your help. yes its have hdmi port in it i just saw it but the person who sells me pc tells me that other monitor doesnt work on hdmi port i have to buy vga splitter.

Any monitor these days supports DVI and you can buy an HDMI to DVI lead.
I often trade multiple brokers at the same time. While it's easy to get 16 MT4 platforms onto multiple monitors, I found that the performance was sluggish. I thought it was poor cpu horsepower. It wasn't. My next thought was the memory. Nope. Looking at the Window's performance monitors, it turned out to be hard drive performance. Switching to a 10,000rpm raptor made a huge improvement.

Thanks buddy for your help. but i want to use both monitors for different purposes like main for trading & other for browsing forexfactory or other programs so it will work after i getting dvi lead.

& which software you are using for going to second monitor.

Nothing - Windows supports multiple monitors - just go into display properties and select 'extend my desktop' and set the display resolution and relative position.
I am using 4, 22" monitors, 2 running fron my graphics card which has only two connections and two others using 2 USB/DVi display adapters.
I see someone mentioned a VGA splitter, this just gives you the same desktop on every monitor, I know because I bought a 4 way splitter and leads plugged it in and found out then I could not get different display on each monitor
Went on the net and found this website www.sewelldirect.com selling USB/DVi adaptors check out the video, guy running 8 monitors from a netbook! Cost $99.99 for each device, will need one for each monitor. Also I checked out ebay, got one from china for $50 runs my 22" without problems for just mt4 charting, but if you want to watch a video it is grainy and sluggish though when using full screen.
