One thing that doesn't seem right is the feed and spread is exactly the same as AxI. This would mean AXI and pepperstone are related and AXI is probably providing their feed to pepperstone.

Liquidity is provided by Integral... they act as a provider for a lot of brokers.

So far so good, the new server upgrade has made a difference to me. I scalp on the 1 minute chart and the last two days have been smooth.
Hope it stays like that.

Pepperstone has two types of accounts, ECN (razor) and standard.

Everyone here has been talking about the ECN account since it's pretty competitive to other brokers and gets liquidity from Integral.

Pepperstone's 'standard' account is just a normal STP setup that uses a marked up spread.

I downloaded AXI's demo and watched it in comparison to Pepperstone, and yes, both the standard accounts at Pepperstone and AXI seem to have the same quotes... HOWEVER, Pepperstone's Razor account has a lot thinner spread and is a different quote feed.


Where you might be getting confused:

1) Both companies could be using the same quote feeds from Integral and same type of setup with Integral's systems. Integral does provide liquidity to a lot of brokers and that means many brokers are quoted the same spread before it's passed on (marked up or not) to their clients.

2) Pepperstone's Razor (ECN) account quotes tighter spreads BUT they use the 'standard' account's quote feed to paint the charts in MT4.. This even I found confusing at first but basically if you're only looking at the chart you'd be looking at quotes that are wider than what's actually going to execute. Instead, look at MT4's Market Watch window for the Razor account to get the exact quote.

Does this mean one piggybacks off the other? Maybe...or maybe not... but they do clearly have the same liquidity provider.. and as far as I can tell, AXI doesn't have anything like the Razor ECN account that Pepperstone offers.

Just a thought or two.

I see you have FinFX shown on your site (http://www.integral.com/partners/truefx_brokers.htm), Is it possible that you provide two different price feeds for Pepperstone and FinFX? I'm just asking because I'm a live client of both FinFX and Pepperstone, and they both have different price feeds and spreads for eurusd.. Can you explain why that is?

Hi,

Both FinFX and Pepperstone use our services for FX aggregation and distribution, but not necessarily exclusively. In addition, they may have a different set of liquidity providers and apply different spreads / rules to those feeds. This would probably explain any differences you might observe.

It would seem strange for two different brokers both using the same price feed (Integral for e.g.) who do not charge commission and therefore cover costs and profit margin by increasing the spread, (Axi and Pepper for e.g.) to both consistently provide the exact same price.

They would have different overheads, margins, marketing etc and some include all fees in the spread and some have separate fees e.g. deposits, withdrawals.

Given that you can get stopped out by a widening spread, paying everything separate from the spread seems like a good idea, even if the total cost finished up being the same.

I'm assuming the server upgrades have worked as noone has complained about slow execution this week. I shall go live from next week, lets see what happens.

So far so good with the server issue, I haven't noticed an interruption in the priced feed once yet. I would image the new server has sorted the issue for good now. However, execution speed is not what it used to be 3-4 weeks ago, market order execution is still taking 1-2 seconds.

Interruptions in the priced feed still remain, less frequent ,shorter, but still present, unforunately.

What have you got against buses? Think of the newbies traders that will attract, more cash in the pot for you!

Professional poker players welcome the rich, wannabe players, they call the really rich ones "whales" I believe, but Mini-Forex traders would be more like "minnows"

so I guess, Go Markets not the only broker with problems

This is the spread I see right now:
A/U: 0.7
E/U: 0.4
G/U: 1.1
U/C: 0.7

And the spread for E/U often goes to as low as 0.1 pip as advertised.

Note: This is all for razor accounts.


I have opened a live (razor) account and wired some money. Waiting for transaction to process.

The only negative that I see was people complaining about platform freezes and disconnections. This was acknowledged by pepperstone as server issue that has since been upgraded.... So is this problem really solved?

Yes, since the server upgrade I have not noticed any further issues.. Everything is back to normal.

A few traders I know who trade through them also report that the issues are gone.

Same here, no issues since the server upgrade.

Edit: Demo server still has regular price feed interruptions though

Are you getting this from the old reviews or do you still get freezes? The problem has been, reportedly, solved since the server upgrade.

Remember this is a new broker and needs a little time to tweak out the issues. Besides I have never seen anyone complaint anything other then freezes.. and that has since been solved.

Platform issues have been resolved as of a while ago... they had an issue and fixed it. What's your problem?

demoed a while ago

regular short freezes

was wondering how a broker can survive having so tight spreads

this was the only answer (freeze a bit to get more on slippage)


even if freeze problem is solved i wud not put much trust in it
