I am not sure if Currenex has multi-curreny back-test capabilities. You may want to ck into that.

If we hedge with 1 pair, say buy EUR/USD and sell EUR/USD simultaneously 0.30 lot. We have no risk, we lose the spreads. Will never make any money. No risk, no profit. No point in doing that.

If we hedge with 2 pairs EUR/USD and USD/CHF, say buy EUR/USD and BUY USD/CHF (buy, buy because they are negative correlated pairs) it is a very risky hedging. Therefore You can make a lot or lose a lot. Historical correlation (in my opinion) is not a good base to develop...

I have to say that I´m testing your system since yesterday, just London session and with some breaks, and results are really good.

Will go on with this forward test. Do you have an EA for open orders after an up renko bar for each pair? This will save a lot of watch screen..... MPTM manages my Global TP and TP/SL for each pair but I have to open manually each order.

I can not help if you “just” see risk in the counter trend sell every 5 pips in the EUR/CHF disregarding the fact that at least 1 of the other pairs, would close a 15 pips TP before the EUR/CHF would trigger a second entry.

Yes. System should open a sell E/C each time an up bar prints in the chart. Let the individual TP/SL and globalTP do the work.

Global TP means when all open trades show $X profit, we will close all the trades at once and will start a refresh round??

Yes, we do use an EA, but sorry. I will not post here. We coded it as a tool and has some other features that would confused many. And then would be disseminated all over the net, pick up by a marketer and sold with some crappy history as the best discovery since slice bread. Sorry.

Perhaps may not even work with the renko you guys use. We use a Commercial renko.

Also, I think that the thread would get prostituted with posts only about the EA (tool) and the tech issues and forget the concept and the strategy itself.

mmmmm. Sorry, I used the wrong term. This system should close all trades when "Equity" shows X Gain.

I think the term Global TP or SL it is more commonly use as you mentioned.
The sum of all open trades (amount shown in the profit Column)

Ok, thank you. But it is not possible to do a good test and then not possible to improve it correctly by trading it manually so..... be patient

Yeap. We "sort of" will keep eye on E/C. In spite that would not mathematically affect the principle of the system as explained in post #40.

I wish it does, and the Swiss keep their promise of intervention and that would never let it drop from 1.20 . Would be nice to get chance to test in real time.

As a note: Every body should be ready to buy E/C at around 1.2050 in their real accounts. (small position) and average down every 50 pips if drops. Almost like shooting seating ducks.


What do you mean by "correlation could end"? Out of the top of my head I think they never end ( at least between 2 pairs). They just change. One day can run +99%. next day -70%. Same then any other lagging indicator. Expressing what happened in the past.

Eur / Chf has been absolutely fantastic last few months, as it approaches 1.21 I start to buy using leverages of 1:10 - 1:20 and simply wait......

It has been a blessing but all good things must come to an end, The might of the Swiss bank is being tested once again these days......

Not missing anything. Yes, you could use this strategy with different pips size. The proof is that I did the calculation to use 20/20/7 but to speed the testing (meaning to test the concept) I used 11/11/5 instead and worked fine. As long you work out from the base that E/U*U/C=E/C

By logic, you would have less trades, the system could idle in dd for longer times. After a reaching your Global target, you may need to re-adjust your grid. Because may also idle a long time.
BIG NOTE ABOUT RENKO VS GRID:

I can not say that a simple grid will not work. But I have not tested this concept triggering trades in grid manner.

I designed the system and made calculations around how renko Prints bar on the chart.

The main difference is when price ranges ranges between 2 times the renko size. Using grid will trigger more trades then renko.

Therefore, the mechanics change, calculations change, relation between the 3 pairs change. And discussing both in the same thread will be extreme confusing.

I respectfully invite all those that want to use the concept with grid to open a new thread. Design the system around that, make the calculations, test 30 days, etc.

mmmmm.. not sure what you mean. If you place orders every 20 pips from each other , it is a 20 pips grid. If you place orders 40 pips from each other is a 40 pips grid.

Yes, I agree, no body would back-test manually , not even me.

I have a renko EA that we use as a tool to execute trades in forward.
But is spite of that I am not able to run an auto back test.

MT4 strategy tester does not provide multi-pairs capabilities. That is the main issue.

Now, If anybody comes out offering help to achieve BT in any type of shape or form, I would gladly provide whatever is needed in a personal base.

That is incorrect. Triggering trades in 20 pips renko Would NOT be the same as triggering trades in 40 pips grid. But there is no point in discussing this here. You can PM me if you want and we can discuss it private. Lets not take this thread into a Renko vs Grid thing.

Do a little table like I did for post #55 and test for yourself.
In any case, if you want to use grid, just accept the invitation of post #55

Totally agree, in fact, really boring to test manually, I have stopped that test.
