Squares are pending orders and circles are stop losses or take profits which have been hit if I remember! Keep up the good work fellas, rinse it

Yes, triangles are entries. The yellow are shorts. Blue are longs. Green circles are TP hit (exits). Many times I exit with a contrarian "entry" without waiting for the TP, in this case you see a green+yellow triangle. Yellow rectangles are stop-orders. You'll see a triangle if the order is executed or a pink rectangle if the order is cancelled.

I tend to place the averaging order at the key levels right after the entry of the first trade. Then if triggered I'll enter the new stop order at the next level. If the market goes in my direction and hits a target or if I close it, I'll cancel the stop order by hand (pink rectangle).

As you see my style is a little more nervous that yours (as I work most of the time at the noisy 1M level). My standard entry is very small. Perhaps 1/10th of my desired position size, so I'm happy to add and average a few times to grow the position and to be better positioned when the mkt turns in the right direction.

Majorusa, you have obviously been trading your method for a while now. How have you found countertrend trading recently?

The market is very unpredictable recently due to the crisis and the news driven moves. I am trading this method since the summer of 2010 and it is working but lately is becoming increasingly more difficult to get out of trades gone badly against you. This why I add more cautiously lately in order to sustain moves exceeding 500 pips against my first entry.

Some will say it is insane but I was having only two days in loss in over one year and these were because of some mistakes that I made. The losses were in the range of 150 pips. Compare this with my average daily gains.

Sounds to good to be true? There is a catch though: you need a large equity and a high tolerance to pain. Also requires a lot of work and concentration. It is not a get rich quick method but gives you good profits with the right amount of work.

And as I said before, it's all about money management.

i have like only 4 bars on 15mins chart which is so weird.

I do not have this issue but it might be related to the zoom of the chart. On my chart the middle wheel of the mouse zooms in and out. Try to zoom in. If it will not work, call your relationship manager with dukascopy.

I discovered your journal a few days after you posted your last trade, the beginning of December. I have been successful in using this method for the last 5 weeks.
The longer this goes on, the more fearful I'm becoming that I don't have an exit strategy if the trade really goes against me.
I have never faced 500 pips against my entry, as you mentioned. The most I've had against me is about 40 pips. Are you saying that you would just hold on tight through a 500 pip move the wrong direction?
I need a plan for the day when it happens to me.
