Long the E/$ at 1.3010, targeting 1.3044, then 1.3064.

Protecting the 1.3012 level now, new target is 1.3041, then 1.3064. Hit the trend wall and fell back, so will re-evaluate if it tests that level again.

Now protecting 1.3025, first target has been hit and now waiting to see if we can breach this level.

Have taken 1/2 my position off at 1.3035, remaining trade being protected at 1.3020, but the failure to breach 1.3042 is noted.

Edit: US equity futures are up sharply now and that is welcome news.

Looking for next entry now, at possibly 1.3040. Protecting 1.3030 now with remaining 1/2 position with initial entry at 1.3010.

OK, now square at 1.3033, will consider next trade at 1.3015-1.3018. PA came within four pips of my second target, and within 6 pips of squaring up one of last weeks moves south. Captured only 24 pips on the full trade (1/2 at 1.3035 and 1/2 at 1.3033), so looking at getting the rest of the move on a deeper retracement, although the current level at 1.3034'ish is right on the .618 fib.

Watching PA now for another entry at about this price level. Waiting now.

Just read several posts on other threads about the use of certain TA tools in trading, and it appears that some of the tools that are used in my trading do not work for everyone here at FF. What I try to do in this journal is document my trading techniques and capture as best I can, sometimes contemporaneously, how these tools can be used in trading. Before anyone believes that these tools "do not work" or are "wankers" (what ever that means), please take the time to test them in real trading situations. Keep in mind, that traders who are not successful believe that nothing works, and most have never posted a winning trade, let alone a few dozen.

Hey GE,

you have few good trades there don't you worry about other people thinking about your style of trading - impotant thing is it works for you and you're comfortable using it. a lot of people here in ff community do nothing but find fault or criticise other people. let the market show them compassion... and make them humble.

"wankers" perhaps appropriate to classify them... don't you think!

Just a general comment on negative people on FF nothing has been aimed at me. Just find in ironic that people who don't know how to trade are so willing to share their tradng "expertise" with others. Funny! Good trading my friend!

i think that is part of learning,to discuss things especially when one develops a hypothesis, then is peered reviewed and one can then review the arguments to come up with a stronger theory that will be tested and further reviewed.

that is how research is made in the scientific world.


if one's mentor is illogical or his theories are not objectively acceptable, one has the RIGHT and OBLIGATION to convey this information, then one hopes an objective review and strengthening of our collaboration through objective data analysis. If the professor or lead research developer dismisses your idea because he IS THE OMNIPOTENT perfect (insert profession here) then he shows his ignorance and ego, to which credibility is lost.

by the way GEFX i am no expert at trading, i do well in medicine, i want to become great at trading and so far i have enjoyed relative success, however, i am no guru. I do not offer expertise to a field i am no expert in. Having said that, my theories on Technical Analysis, are there open to discussion and review.

and the hole fti deal, i cannot submit to specious mantras that are ambiguous and pretend to possess absolute truth, when tested by myself on random environments and proper risk assessment is made (granted most of what mr Tiang offers is very illuminating to say the least) his idea of averaging down is insidious.

i am under the impression that many of fti pupils, think of me in a very low light, not that i should care what internet participants think of me. You however have not shown anything but mutual respect, so i extend to you my friendship, and i appreciate your reviews, and objections to my theories. Do feel free to find flaws in my ideas, that is why i share with all, i hope to be proven wrong, so i can re adjust my position on the matters at hand.

The results of the last fib trade on the move north for the E/$, made right after my last post. The target was the sqaure up level noted on the chart. Now, it may be ready to move up more but need to look more closely at that. US equities are up and we'll see if they can hold.

Hi Red, I understand that you and fti had an issue. He has been, and continues to be, one of the people I greatly respect on FF. I very much miss his participation in his TAF thread, too. I also have a great deal of respect for you, and will continue to share ideas with you. You seem to be well on your way, if you are not already there.

My earlier comments were prompted by some comments that I have read on FF in other threads. I am sure that some of the negative people on FF are smart, but in my experience, smart people are a dime a dozen. What matters is can they get the job done, and by their own admission, they can't. One of my New Year's resolutions is to avoid threads that they frequent.

Hope you are trading well today, as I believe you anticipated this move on the E/$. Good trading Red.

OK, been trading the euro south all morning after yesterday's push north to square the price levels up to 1.3064, and a hit of the .786 fib. Once that squaring was finished, there was additional territory above and the bias of south below. South it was. Target all morning was the key support from the up move, and the overlapping .786 fib. The trades all morning were fib trades and it was quite a morning. Note the attempt to square the area below, which it may do yet today.
