What charting software are you using to draw the diagonal ellipses? What drawing points did you use? I need that capability like a fish needs water.

While practicing drawing with the pitchfork, the concept of a curvefork came to mind. Just like the pitchfork, it using three alternating pivots but it would have equidistant curvy lines instead of straight.

The basis for the curvature of the lines would be an ellipse drawn using pivot A and the midpoint of the BC trendline. Then, depending on the direction of the curvefork, place the top (for downfork) or bottom (for upfork) portion of the ellipse (from pivot A) at pivot B, the BC midpoint, and pivot C.

I currently don't have software to illustrate this, so if someone else can, have at it.

The more I think about it, since nothing here is written in stone, I would say it's ok to use the top or bottom portion of the ellipse just to see what happens. So, that's the equivalent to placing the entire ellipse on the points I mentioned.

I tried for the longest time to get a grasp on exactly that, but charting packages today, at least in the public domain (paid or unpaid) do not have the computing power to measure 3 dimensionally. A rotating fork and rotating reflective angles are spot on.....

Thanks for responding auxesis.

I am strictly focusing on the 2D instead of the 3D. I just want to see how it will look on screen. It should be simple to draw if you have software which draws diagonal ellipses.

This is the best I can do to illustrate what I'm talking about. The tangential slope of the ellipse needs to be the same as the pitchfork. My charting software keeps the slope of an ellipse horizontal.

By extending the curvature of the top or bottom of the ellipse, they could possibly act as support or resistance.

All of this is still theory of course.

Most of my thoughts that i share here on FF are based on the work of two different authors/traders, John Crane and Micheal Jenkins.

It's all based on reflections, of time, price structure or both. Crane's ab=cd work incorporated into pitchforks, Jenkins for the mirrors.

Thanks for sharing, I know you are well respected so anything you have studied I will definitely take the time to do my due diligence.

I have had the desire to learn about Sine Waves and the manner in which they influence price. This particular thread helped cement my thinking and trade philosophy. Coincidently, This Bull Market we are experiencing now is a perfect example of how several cycles (short, medium and long waves) all pushing upwards have a very powerful effect on price, as you very well know. I believe I have posted a chart illustrating just this, but I will post a chart illustration soon.

I have managed to manipulate a few different indicators in order to construct cycle waves for my trading. The simple explanation is I trade back to the mean by entering the market at the turn of a cycle.

I eagerly look forward to addition conversation with you and others regarding this topic!

I've never thought of using a cosine wave, if I understand correctly, cosine waves have the same shape as sine, however their starting points are 90 degrees or 1/4 wavelength back in time.... Much like a displaced moving average I'd say.

The ab=cd structure. In theory the bc segment is the mirror, with the centerpoint as its focal point. the cd segment should follow in a similar fashion (reverse or mirror) the preceding ab leg.
